Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your LIONWEI 13-in-1 USB C Docking Station and configure your displays.
1. Verify Laptop USB-C Port Compatibility
Before connecting, ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) or is a full-function Thunderbolt 3/4 port. Ports that only support charging or data transfer will not enable display output.
Check your laptop's USB-C port functionality for display output compatibility.
2. Connect the Docking Station
Connect the USB-C cable from the docking station to your laptop's compatible USB-C port.
Connect your external monitors to the docking station's HDMI, DisplayPort, and/or VGA ports.
(Optional) Connect a power adapter to the docking station's PD port to charge your laptop.
(Optional) Connect other peripherals like USB devices, SD/TF cards, and an Ethernet cable.
3. Configure Displays (Windows OS)
For Windows systems, the docking station supports both Mirror (SST) and Extend (MST) modes, allowing for quadruple display output.
Video: Setup instructions for the LIONWEI docking station on Windows, demonstrating display configuration.
To configure displays on Windows:
Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings" or go to Settings > System > Display.
Under "Multiple displays," you can choose to:
Duplicate these displays: Shows the same content on all connected screens.
Extend these displays: Expands your desktop across all connected screens, allowing for more workspace.
Drag and drop the display boxes to arrange them according to your physical setup.
Adjust resolution and orientation for each display as needed.
Windows display modes: Extend Mode (ABCDE) and Non-Mirror Mode (ABBB). Note: Connecting a fourth external monitor may reduce resolution to two 4K and two 1080p displays.

4. Configure Displays (Mac OS)
For Mac OS, the docking station can only extend to one external monitor (4K@60Hz) due to MST limitations. Other monitors will mirror the extended display.
To configure displays on Mac OS:
Go to System Settings > Displays.
Click on the external display you wish to configure.
Under "Use as," select "Extended display" for the primary external monitor. Other monitors will automatically mirror this extended display.
Adjust resolution and refresh rate as needed.
Mac OS display modes: Extend Mode (ABBB) and Mirror Mode (AAAA). Note: macOS does not support MST (ABC/ABCD/ABCDE).

Check all cable connections (USB-C from dock to laptop, HDMI/DP/VGA to monitors).
Verify display settings on your operating system (Windows: Display settings; Mac: System Settings > Displays) to ensure external monitors are detected and configured correctly (Extend/Duplicate).
Try connecting one monitor at a time to isolate the issue.
Restart your laptop and reconnect the docking station.
Flickering or Unstable Display:
Ensure all display cables are securely connected.
Reduce the display resolution or refresh rate in your operating system's display settings.
Ensure your laptop's graphics drivers are up to date.
Avoid using excessively long or low-quality display cables.
No Power Delivery (Laptop Not Charging):
Confirm that a compatible USB-C PD power adapter is connected to the docking station's PD port.
Ensure the power adapter has sufficient wattage (100W recommended for full functionality).
Check if your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery input.
USB Devices Not Recognized or Slow Data Transfer:
Try connecting the USB device to a different port on the docking station.
Ensure the device is properly inserted.
For optimal speed, use USB 3.1 ports for high-bandwidth devices.
Some high-power USB devices may require external power or a powered USB hub.
