Note: 2 AA batteries are required for operation and are not included in the package.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Sprobil Sprinkler Timer:

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the timer. Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery cover securely to maintain the IP54 waterproof seal.

  2. Attach Filter and Adapter: Before attaching the timer to your faucet, ensure the built-in mesh filter is properly seated in the inlet to prevent debris from entering the system. If your faucet requires it, use the provided 3/4" USA-type faucet adapter.

  3. Connect to Faucet: Screw the sprinkler timer onto your outdoor faucet. Hand-tighten until secure. For an enhanced leak-proof connection, apply the provided thread seal tape to the faucet threads before attaching the timer. The reinforced inlet is designed to withstand water pressures up to 116 PSI.

  4. Connect Hose: Attach your garden hose or irrigation system to the outlet at the bottom of the timer. Use the quick connector if desired for easy attachment and detachment.

Operating Instructions

The Sprobil Sprinkler Timer features an intuitive rotary dial and a large LCD display for easy programming. The timer supports three main watering modes: Automatic, Manual, and Rain Delay.

Understanding the Dial Settings:

  • SET CLOCK: Set the current time.
  • START TIME: Set the desired start time for automatic watering.
  • HOW LONG: Set the duration of each watering cycle (1 minute to 3 hours 59 minutes).
  • HOW OFTEN: Set the frequency of watering (every 1-12 hours or every 1-7 days).
  • ON: Activates the programmed automatic watering schedule.
  • OFF: Deactivates all watering.

1. Automatic Watering Mode

This mode allows you to set a precise, recurring watering schedule.

  1. Set Current Time: Turn the dial to SET CLOCK. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the current time. Press OK to confirm.

  2. Set Start Time: Turn the dial to START TIME. Use the + and - buttons to set the desired time for watering to begin. Press OK to confirm.

  3. Set Watering Duration: Turn the dial to HOW LONG. Use the + and - buttons to set the duration of each watering cycle (from 1 minute to 3 hours 59 minutes). Press OK to confirm.

  4. Set Watering Frequency: Turn the dial to HOW OFTEN. Use the + and - buttons to select the frequency (e.g., every 12 hours, every 3 days). Press OK to confirm.

  5. Activate: Turn the dial to ON. The timer will now operate according to your programmed schedule.

2. Manual Watering Mode

The manual mode allows for immediate, on-demand watering without affecting your programmed automatic schedule.

  1. Activate Manual Mode: Press the DELAY button (often labeled with a hand icon or similar) once. The display will show "MANUAL" or a similar indicator.

  2. Set Manual Duration: Use the + and - buttons to set the desired manual watering duration (from 1 minute to 8 hours). Press OK to start watering immediately.

  3. Stop Manual Watering: To stop manual watering before the set duration, press the DELAY button again, or turn the dial to OFF and then back to ON to resume the automatic schedule.

3. Rain Delay Function

The rain delay function allows you to temporarily pause your watering schedule for a set period, preventing overwatering during rainy conditions.

  1. Activate Rain Delay: While the timer is in ON mode, press and hold the DELAY button for a few seconds until the display shows "DELAY" and a time option.

  2. Set Delay Duration: Use the + and - buttons to select the desired delay period: 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours. Press OK to confirm.

  3. Resume Schedule: After the delay period ends, the timer will automatically resume its programmed watering schedule.

Turning Off the Timer

To completely stop all watering and programming, turn the dial to OFF. To resume, turn the dial back to ON.

  • Battery Replacement: The timer is designed for approximately 8 months of battery life. When the battery indicator on the LCD display shows low power, replace the two (2) AA batteries promptly. The timer features a program auto-save function, retaining your settings during battery replacement.
