1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your Britsou 34 Pint Dehumidifier, Model PD11CS-S3. This appliance is designed to remove excess moisture from the air in various indoor environments, improving air quality and comfort. It is suitable for areas up to 2000 square feet, such as basements, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living rooms.
2. Safety Instructions
Please observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of electric shock, injury, or fire:
- Always plug the dehumidifier into a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.
- Ensure the voltage matches the rating label on the unit.
- Do not operate the unit with a damaged power cord or plug. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified service agent.
- Keep the dehumidifier upright during transport and operation.
- Maintain at least 8 inches (20 cm) of clearance around the unit for proper airflow.
- Do not insert objects into the air inlet or outlet.
- Unplug the unit before cleaning, moving, or performing any maintenance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain the packaging materials for future storage or transport. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage.
4.2 Placement
Place the dehumidifier on a flat, stable surface in the desired location. Ensure there is at least 8 inches (20 cm) of clear space around all sides of the unit to allow for proper air circulation. Avoid placing it near heat sources, in direct sunlight, or in areas where it could be exposed to freezing temperatures.
4.3 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V/60Hz electrical outlet. The unit will emit a beep, and the display will illuminate, indicating it is in standby mode.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press the Power button to turn the dehumidifier on or off.
5.2 Setting Desired Humidity
When the unit is on, press the Humi button to adjust the desired humidity level. The humidity can be set between 30% and 80% relative humidity (RH) in 5% increments. The unit will operate until the set humidity level is reached, then cycle off. It will restart automatically if the humidity rises above the set level.

5.3 Operating Modes
Press the Mode button to cycle through the three available operating modes:
- DEHU Mode: Standard dehumidification. The unit will operate based on your set humidity level.
- DRY Mode: Designed for faster drying, such as clothes. The unit will run continuously at high fan speed regardless of humidity.
- CONT Mode: Continuous operation. The unit will run continuously at the current fan speed, ideal for extremely damp conditions.

5.4 Timer Function
Press the Timer button to set a 24-hour timer for automatic power on or off. Repeatedly press the button to adjust the desired time in 1-hour increments. The timer will start counting down once set.

5.5 Fan Speed
Press the Speed button to switch between High and Low fan speeds.
5.6 Child Lock
To activate the child lock, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds. The control panel will become unresponsive to accidental touches. To deactivate, press and hold the Lock button again for 3 seconds.

6. Water Drainage
Your dehumidifier offers two drainage options: manual drainage using the water tank or continuous drainage with the included hose.

6.1 Manual Drainage (Water Tank)
When the water tank is full, the dehumidifier will automatically shut off, and an indicator light will illuminate. To empty the tank:
- Gently pull out the water tank from the front of the unit.
- Carefully carry the tank to a sink or drain.
- Pour out the collected water.
- Slide the empty tank back into the unit until it clicks into place. The dehumidifier will resume operation.
6.2 Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose)
For continuous operation without needing to empty the water tank, use the included drain hose:
- Locate the drain outlet at the back of the dehumidifier.
- Remove the rubber stopper from the drain outlet.
- Connect one end of the drain hose to the outlet, ensuring a secure fit.
- Direct the other end of the hose to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, large bucket, or sink). Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity to drain the water effectively.
- Verify that the hose is not kinked or blocked.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.
7.1 Cleaning the Air Filter
The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
- Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier.
- Locate the air filter cover at the rear of the unit and remove it.
- Gently pull out the air filter.
- Wash the filter with clean water (below 104°F / 40°C) or vacuum it to remove dust.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it. Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
- Place the dry filter back into the unit and replace the cover.

7.2 Cleaning the Unit Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
7.3 Storage
If storing the unit for an extended period:
- Empty the water tank and ensure it is clean and dry.
- Clean the air filter.
- Coil the power cord neatly.
- Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
