3. Setup

3.1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the monocular's charging port and to a compatible 20W power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show the charging status. A 10-minute charge provides approximately 1 hour of operation, with a full charge offering up to 6 hours.

3.2. Initial Power On and Diopter Adjustment

  1. Press and hold the Power/OK button located on the top of the device to turn it on.
  2. Look through the eyepiece. If the image is not clear, rotate the diopter adjustment ring near the eyepiece until the display text and image appear sharp for your vision.

4.1. Basic Controls

The E10-256 features a one-button, one-ring design for intuitive control:

  • Power/OK Button: Press and hold to power on/off. Short press to confirm selections or take a photo/start recording.
  • Function Knob (Ring): Rotate to navigate menus, switch modes, or adjust settings.

4.2. Thermal View and Color Palettes

The device offers a 50Hz refresh rate for smooth thermal imaging. You can switch between various color palettes to optimize viewing for different scenarios:

4.3. App Connectivity (TargetIR App)

The i4SEE E10-256 can connect to your smartphone via the TargetIR app (available on App Store and Google Play) using dual-band WiFi (2.4G/5G) and Bluetooth. This enables:

  • Real-time preview of HD infrared images.
  • Full remote control for photos, videos, rangefinding, tracking, and zoom.
  • File management (viewing, deleting, sharing).
  • Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates.

4.4. Recording Videos and Photos

The device has 16GB of internal memory for storing captured media. You can record videos with synced audio and take still photos.

  • To take a photo: Short press the Power/OK button.
  • To start/stop video recording: Refer to the on-screen interface or the TargetIR app for specific controls.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

  • Lens and Eyepiece: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Device Body: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.

5.2. Storage

Store the monocular in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the lens cap is on to protect the objective lens.

5.3. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.

  • Image is blurry: Adjust the diopter ring near the eyepiece. Ensure the objective lens is clean and free from obstructions.
