Important Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of explosive gases. Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate explosive gases during normal operation. For this reason, it is of utmost importance that you read this manual and follow the instructions exactly each time you use the charger.

  • Always wear eye protection and protective clothing when working with batteries.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation when charging a battery.
  • Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of the battery or engine.
  • Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working with a lead-acid battery.
  • Be extra cautious to reduce the risk of dropping a metal tool onto the battery. It might spark or short-circuit the battery or other electrical parts that may cause an explosion.
  • Disconnect the AC power supply before connecting or disconnecting the DC output clamps to or from the battery.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Setup

  1. Prepare the Battery: Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If the battery has removable caps, check the electrolyte level and add distilled water if necessary (for lead-acid batteries).
  2. Connect to Battery:
    • Connect the RED positive (+) charger clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal.
    • Connect the BLACK negative (-) charger clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    • Ensure connections are secure.
  3. Connect to Power: Plug the charger's AC power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The charger will power on and display the current battery voltage.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once connected to the battery and AC power, the charger will automatically turn on and display the battery's current voltage and status.
  2. Select Charging Mode: Press the MODE button to cycle through the available charging modes: Lithium, Lead-Acid, LiFePO4, and Repair. Select the mode appropriate for your battery type. The charger will automatically detect 12V or 24V.
  3. Automatic Charging: After selecting the mode, the charger will begin the 7-stage charging process automatically. The display will show charging progress, current, voltage, and ambient temperature.
  4. Pulse Repair Mode: If your battery is old, has been idle for a long time, or is experiencing undervoltage, select the 'Repair' mode. This mode uses pulse technology to attempt to restore battery performance. Note that severely damaged batteries may not be repairable.
  5. Winter/Summer Mode: The charger automatically detects ambient temperature. Below 10°C, it enters Winter Mode, increasing charging voltage for more sufficient charging. Above 28°C, it enters Summer Mode, reducing voltage to prevent overcharging.
  6. Charging Completion: The display will indicate 'FUL' when the battery is fully charged. The charger will then switch to float charging to maintain the battery.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from both AC power and the battery before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • Cable and Clamp Inspection: Regularly inspect the charging cables and clamps for any signs of damage, fraying, or corrosion. Replace if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure cables are neatly coiled and not kinked.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Charger does not power on. No AC power; faulty outlet; charger malfunction. Check AC power connection and outlet. Try a different outlet. If problem persists, contact support.
Charger displays 'ERO' (Reverse Connection). Battery clamps are connected in reverse polarity. Disconnect AC power, then disconnect battery clamps. Reconnect RED (+) to positive (+) and BLACK (-) to negative (-). Plug in AC power.
Battery not charging or charging slowly. Incorrect mode selected; battery deeply discharged or damaged; poor connection. Ensure correct mode is selected. Check battery clamp connections. If battery is severely damaged, it may not accept a charge or repair.
Charger gets warm during operation. Normal operation; poor ventilation. It is normal for the charger to get warm. Ensure adequate ventilation around the charger. If it becomes excessively hot, disconnect and contact support.
