3. Product Components

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your electric rodent zapper:

  • Main Unit (Accumulator Box): The upper part of the trap containing the electronic components. Do not wash this part.
  • Mousetrap (Washable Base): The lower part of the trap where rodents enter and are eliminated. This part can be rinsed directly.
  • On/Off Switch: Located on the top of the main unit to power the device.
  • Indicator Lights: Green and red lights provide status feedback (enabled, rodent captured, low battery).
  • Bait Area: A designated compartment at the back of the trap for placing bait.
  • Metal Plate Sensors: Internal plates that detect rodent presence and deliver the electric shock.
  • Battery Box: Compartment for inserting 4 'C' type batteries (not included).
  • Charging Port: For connecting the included AC adapter.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to prepare your rodent zapper for operation:

  1. Step 1: Bait Placement
Using a plastic or wooden knife, insert a small amount of bait (such as peanut butter or any food rodents prefer) through the bottom hole on the back plate of the trap. Ensure the bait is placed on the trap's floor, opposite the entrance.
  2. Step 2: Power Supply
Insert 4 'C' type batteries into the battery compartment. (Note: Batteries are not included with this product.) Alternatively, you can power the device by plugging in the included 3.7 ft AC adapter into the charging port.
  3. Step 3: Trap Placement
Identify locations with known rodent activity, such as worn trails or walkways. Place the unit on the floor against a wall, ensuring the entrance is in line with the rodent's trail. Rodents typically prefer to stay close to walls.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the trap is set up and placed, follow these steps to operate it:

  1. Step 1: Activate the Trap
Press the switch to the "On" position (-). The green light will flash once, indicating that the unit has been enabled and is ready to operate.
  2. Step 2: Rodent Detection and Elimination
When a rodent enters the unit and touches the two metal plates, the green light will flash for 1 second, followed by the red light flashing once every 5 seconds. This indicates that a high-voltage shock has been delivered. The high voltage will be produced for approximately 2 minutes to ensure complete elimination.
  3. Step 3: Post-Elimination Indication
After a rodent has been eliminated, the green light will turn on continuously, signaling a successful catch.

Important Notes:

  • The high voltage will not be produced again until the unit is reset (turned off and then on) or a new rodent is detected after the previous cycle.
  • If the red light flashes 3 times after power on or after a rodent is killed, it indicates that the batteries should be changed to ensure optimal performance.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your rodent zapper.

  1. Step 1: Power Off
Before cleaning, always press the switch to the "Off" position (O).
  2. Step 2: Separate Components
Slide up the accumulator box to separate it from the washable mousetrap base.
  3. Step 3: Dispose of Rodent
The detachable chamber allows for easy, no-touch disposal of dead rodents directly into a trash bin.
  4. Step 4: Clean the Base
The mousetrap base can be rinsed directly with water. Use a cleaning agent to thoroughly clean the chamber to remove any scent that might deter future rodents.
  5. Step 5: Dry Thoroughly
After cleaning, dry the washable base completely, preferably in the sun, before reassembling. Ensure the unit is completely dry before reuse to prevent electrical hazards.
  6. Step 6: Battery Care
If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries from the compartment to prevent damage from battery leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions:

ProblemIndicator Light StatusPossible Cause / Solution
Unit does not power on or green light does not flash once after turning on.No light activity.Check battery installation (ensure 4 'C' batteries are correctly inserted) or AC adapter connection. Ensure the switch is firmly in the 'On' position.
Rodent enters but no shock occurs. No light change or incorrect light sequence.Ensure the metal plates are clean and dry. Check battery level or AC adapter connection. Rodent may not have made full contact with both plates.
Green light and red light flash alternately.Alternating green and red flashes.Low battery indication. Replace all 4 'C' batteries with new ones.
Red light flashes 3 times after power on or after a kill.Red light flashes three times.Batteries are low and need to be changed for effective operation.
Trap is not catching rodents. No light activity or constant green light (if previously caught).Check bait freshness and type. Ensure proper placement against a wall. Clean the trap thoroughly to remove any human or rodent scent.
