5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Placement and Clearance

The ice maker supports undercounter, freestanding, or built-in installation. For proper ventilation and operation, ensure a minimum of 50mm (2 inches) of clearance on both the sides and top of the unit.

5.2 Reversible Door Installation

The stainless steel door can be reversed to open from either the left or right side, providing flexibility for your installation needs. Follow the steps below to change the door swing direction:

  1. Remove Top Hinge: Carefully remove the top hinge cover and the top hinge from the current side.
  2. Remove Door: Lift the door off the bottom hinge pin.
  3. Remove Bottom Hinge: Unscrew and remove the bottom hinge from its current position.
  4. Install Bottom Hinge on Opposite Side: Attach the bottom hinge to the desired new side using the provided screws.
  5. Transfer Door Components: Remove the door stop and bearing sleeve from the bottom of the door and install them on the opposite side of the door.
  6. Reattach Door: Place the door onto the newly installed bottom hinge pin.
  7. Install Top Hinge: Attach the top hinge to the top of the cabinet on the new side, aligning it with the door. Secure with screws.
  8. Replace Top Hinge Cover: Place the top hinge cover over the installed top hinge.

5.3 Water Connection

Connect the ice maker to a potable water supply using the provided water connector. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.

5.4 No Drain Required Feature

This ice maker features a built-in freezing compartment that keeps ice frozen without the need for a separate drain line. This simplifies installation and allows for placement in various locations.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Startup

After installation, allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Plug the unit into a grounded 110V outlet.

6.2 Ice Making Process

The VEVOR Ice Maker is designed for easy operation with a one-touch control. Once powered on and connected to water, the unit will automatically begin the ice-making cycle. It can produce crescent-shaped ice cubes in as fast as 20 minutes, with a daily production capacity of up to 15 lbs and an ice storage capacity of 11 lbs.

6.3 Ice Retention

The unit features triple-layer insulation to maintain a cold environment, keeping the ice crisp and clear. The internal temperature is maintained between 26.6-32°F (-3 to 0°C) to minimize ice melting.

7. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ice maker.

7.1 Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent and water. Dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7.2 Cleaning the Interior and Ice Bin

Periodically clean the ice storage bin and interior surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely before resuming operation. For sanitation, a diluted bleach solution (1 tablespoon bleach per gallon of water) can be used, followed by thorough rinsing.

7.3 Descaling

Depending on water hardness, mineral deposits may accumulate. Descale the unit periodically using a commercial ice maker descaler or a solution of citric acid. Follow the descaler product instructions carefully.
