4. Setup and Installation
4.1. Placement
Select a suitable location for the heat pump. It should be placed on a solid, level surface, preferably concrete, and close to the pool and existing filtration system. Ensure adequate air circulation around the unit; do not place it in an enclosed space. Maintain at least 20 inches (50 cm) of clear space around the air intake and exhaust sides.

4.2. Plumbing Connection
The heat pump should be installed after the pool filter and before any chemical feeders. Water flows from the pool pump, through the filter, then to the heat pump, and finally back to the pool. Use the provided universal metric-imperial connector kit for secure connections.

7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on | No power supply; tripped circuit breaker; damaged power cord. | Check power connection; reset circuit breaker; inspect power cord for damage. |
| Insufficient heating/cooling | Incorrect temperature setting; dirty air filter; low water flow; ambient temperature outside operating range. | Adjust temperature setting; clean air intake/exhaust; check pool pump and filter; ensure ambient temperature is within 20-109°F (6.7-42.8°C). |
| Unusual noise during operation | Loose components; debris in fan; unit not level. | Check for loose parts; clear any debris from fan area; ensure unit is on a level surface. The unit operates quietly, typically below 60dB. |
| Water leakage | Loose plumbing connections; damaged pipes. | Tighten all plumbing connections; inspect pipes for cracks or damage and replace if necessary. |
