6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the dock. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Ventilation: Ensure the cooling vents on the dock are not obstructed to maintain optimal performance and prevent overheating.
- Handling: Handle the dock with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Dock not recognized by Mac mini | Loose USB-C connection; Mac mini port issue. | Ensure the integrated USB-C cable is securely connected to your Mac mini. Try a different USB-C/Thunderbolt port on your Mac mini. Restart your Mac mini. |
| NVMe SSD not detected | Incorrect installation; SSD not formatted; SSD compatibility issue. | Re-check SSD installation steps (Section 4.1). Ensure the SSD is properly seated and secured. Format the SSD using Disk Utility on your Mac mini if it's new. Verify SSD type (NVMe M.2 only). |
| Slow data transfer speeds | Using lower speed ports; cable quality; external interference. | Ensure high-speed devices are connected to 10Gbps USB ports. Use high-quality cables. Minimize electromagnetic interference from other devices. |
| Wi-Fi interference | Rare, but possible. | The dock is designed with shielding to prevent 5G Wi-Fi interference. If issues persist, try repositioning the Mac mini or checking for other sources of interference in your environment. |
