1. Introduction

The UGREEN Mac mini M4 Dock & Stand is a versatile expansion hub designed to enhance the functionality and storage capabilities of your Mac mini M4 or M4 Pro. This dock integrates an NVMe SSD enclosure, multiple high-speed USB ports, and an SD card reader, all within a sleek design that complements your Mac mini.

3. Package Contents

Please ensure all items are present and in good condition upon unboxing:

4. Setup Guide

4.1. NVMe SSD Installation (Optional)

The dock supports M.2 NVMe SSDs (2230/2242/2260/2280 sizes) for expanded storage. Follow these steps to install an SSD:

  1. Disconnect the dock from your Mac mini and any power sources. Invert the dock and unscrew the bottom panel to remove it.
  2. Loosen the M.2 interface screw within the SSD enclosure slot.
  3. Carefully insert your M.2 NVMe SSD into the M.2 slot and secure it with the provided screw.
  4. Replace the bottom panel and tighten the screws.
  5. Connect the dock to your Mac mini. Successful installation is indicated by the drive appearing in your Mac's file system.

4.2. Connecting to Mac mini

Place your Mac mini directly on top of the UGREEN Dock. The integrated 4cm USB-C host cable from the dock should be connected to one of the USB-C/Thunderbolt ports on your Mac mini. This cable provides both data and power to the dock.

4.3. Powering On

The dock draws power from your Mac mini. For multi-device setups or high-power peripherals, an external 5V power adapter (not included) can be connected to the 5V USB-C Charging Port on the rear of the dock for stable operation. The dock features a bottom-groove power button access, allowing you to turn on your Mac mini without lifting it.

5.1. USB Port Usage

Connect your USB devices to the available USB-A and USB-C ports. The dock provides:

These ports are suitable for connecting external hard drives, keyboards, mice, printers, and other USB peripherals. For optimal performance, connect high-speed devices to the 10Gbps ports.

5.2. SD/TF Card Reader Usage

Insert your SD or TF (microSD) cards into the corresponding slots on the front of the dock. The UHS-II card reader supports speeds up to 170MB/s, ideal for quickly transferring photos and videos from cameras and other devices.

5.3. NVMe SSD Storage Access

Once an NVMe SSD is installed and recognized by your Mac mini, it will appear as an external drive. You can use it for data storage, backups, or as a scratch disk for demanding applications.
