3. Setup and Installation

The Sunmerit Landscape Lighting Kit is designed for easy, plug-and-play installation, requiring no special tools or professional assistance.

3.1. Placement Considerations

  • Choose locations in your yard, garden, or along pathways where you desire illumination.
  • Ensure the transformer is mounted at least 39 to 59 inches (1 to 1.5 meters) above the ground to allow the photocell sensor to function optimally.
  • The compact design of the fixtures allows them to be easily hidden behind plants or rocks for a clean, professional appearance.

3.2. Installation Steps

  1. Stake the Lights: Attach each spotlight to its respective metal stake. Firmly push the stakes into the ground at your desired locations.
  2. Connect the Wiring: The lights are pre-wired. Simply connect the single waterproof connector from the lighting array to the transformer. Ensure the connection is secure to maintain the IP65 waterproof rating.
  3. Position the Transformer: Mount the transformer in a suitable outdoor location, ensuring the photocell sensor is exposed to ambient light for accurate dusk-to-dawn operation.
  4. Plug In: Plug the transformer into a standard outdoor electrical outlet.

5. Maintenance and Care

The Sunmerit Landscape Lighting Kit is designed for durability and minimal maintenance. Following these guidelines will help ensure its longevity and optimal performance.

5.1. Weather Resistance

The spotlights and transformer are rated IP65 waterproof, meaning they are protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction. The durable aluminum housing allows them to operate effectively in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 130°F (-20°C to 54°C), making them resistant to frost and heat.

5.2. Cleaning

Periodically wipe down the lights and transformer with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.

5.3. Heat Dissipation

The aluminum housing of the spotlights is designed with heat dissipation fins to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the LED chips. Ensure that the fins are not obstructed by debris or excessive buildup to allow for proper airflow.
