The DC1602 remote control requires one CR2450 3V Lithium battery. Follow these steps to install or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control (refer to the 'Remote Control Layout' image).
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- If installing a new battery, remove any insulation tape present.
- Insert the CR2450 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Pairing with Motorized Shades
To control your motorized shades, the DC1602 remote must first be paired. This process typically involves using an existing paired transmitter (Transmitter A) to transfer the pairing to the new remote (Transmitter B). If you are pairing the first remote, refer to your shade motor's specific instructions for initial pairing mode.

Image: Step-by-step guide for pairing the DC1602 remote, illustrating pressing the P2 button on an existing transmitter and then on the new transmitter.
- On a currently matched transmitter (Transmitter A), press the P2 button twice. The motor of the shade should jog (move slightly) to confirm it's in pairing mode.
- Within a few seconds, press the P2 button on the new DC1602 remote control (Transmitter B). The motor should jog again, indicating successful pairing.
The electric shade remote is now paired and ready for use.
4.2 Channel Selection
The DC1602 remote can control up to 15 individual channels or groups of shades. Use the P1+ buttons (< >) to cycle through the channels. The selected channel number will be displayed on the screen.
- Press the < button to decrease the channel number.
- Press the > button to increase the channel number.
4.3 Basic Control
Once a channel is selected, use the main control buttons:
- Press the Up Button (▲) to raise the shade.
- Press the Down Button (▼) to lower the shade.
- Press the Stop Button (–) to halt the shade at its current position.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Battery Replacement
When the remote's performance degrades or the display becomes dim, it's time to replace the battery. Refer to Section 3.1 for detailed instructions on battery installation. Always use a CR2450 3V Lithium battery for optimal performance.
6. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure you are within the operating range (up to 115 feet indoors, 655 feet in open field).
- Shade not pairing:
- Re-attempt the pairing process as described in Section 4.1.
- Ensure the motor is in pairing mode (jogs after pressing P2 on the matched transmitter).
- Verify compatibility with your shade motor.
- Shade moves in the wrong direction:
- This usually indicates a motor programming issue, not a remote issue. Refer to your shade motor's instruction manual for direction reversal programming.
