4. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup before first use:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present: espresso machine, detachable water tank, single cup brewing filter, double cup brewing filter, pod filter, spoon, and user manual.
  2. Clean: Wash the water tank, portafilter, filters, and drip tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. Fill Water Tank: Fill the removable water tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Place it securely back into the machine.
  4. Prime the Machine: Before brewing coffee for the first time, or if the machine has not been used for a long period, prime the system. Place an empty cup under the portafilter. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up. Once ready, run a cycle without coffee grounds to flush the system with hot water. Repeat this process for the steam wand as well.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Espresso

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is plugged in and turned on.
  2. Select the appropriate filter (single or double shot) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Add freshly ground coffee to the filter. For optimal results, use fine espresso grind. Tamp the coffee evenly.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting it to the 'Lock' position.
  5. Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray. For best results, preheat your cups on the cup warming plate.
  6. On the LCD display, select your desired temperature setting (Low, Standard, or High) and then choose 'Single Cup' or 'Double Cup' brewing. The machine will begin brewing.
  7. The 20-bar pressure pump ensures maximum flavor extraction. The LCD will show brewing progress.
  8. Once brewing is complete, remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.

5.2 Milk Frothing

The integrated steam wand allows you to create rich, creamy milk foam for lattes and cappuccinos.

  1. Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
  2. Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
  3. Turn the steam control knob to activate the steam.
  4. As the milk heats and expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the wand tip just below the surface, creating a swirling motion.
  5. Continue frothing until the milk reaches your desired temperature and consistency. The LCD may indicate 'Steam' mode.
  6. Turn off the steam control knob and remove the pitcher. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and performance of your espresso machine.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the removable drip tray after each use or when the indicator floats up.
  • Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under running water. Use a brush to remove any stubborn residue.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Purge the wand briefly by activating steam into an empty cup to clear any internal blockages.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the machine, affecting performance and taste. The LCD display may indicate a 'Descale' alert. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions (or use a mixture of white vinegar and water, 1:1 ratio).
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  3. Place a large container under the brewing head and steam wand.
  4. Run several brewing cycles and steam cycles until the water tank is empty.
  5. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
  6. Run several cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
