Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Maxitrol GV60 G6R-R3AM Remote Control and Receiver Module Kit. Setup and Installation

1. Receiver Module Installation

The receiver module is typically installed within the fireplace's control area, often beneath the burner or behind the access panel. Ensure the location is protected from direct heat and moisture.

1. Power Disconnection: Turn off the gas supply and electrical power to the fireplace.
2. Access Control Area: Open the access panel to the fireplace's control area.
3. Connect Wiring Harness: Connect the provided wiring harness to the receiver module. The harness typically includes connections for the pilot, main burner, and power supply (battery pack or AC adapter). Refer to the wiring diagram on the receiver module for correct connections.
4. Connect to Fireplace: Connect the other end of the wiring harness to the appropriate terminals on your fireplace's gas valve or ignition system. Ensure all connections are secure.
5. Power Supply:
   • Battery Pack (DC594): If using a battery pack, insert the required batteries (e.g., 4x AA batteries) into the battery holder and connect it to the wiring harness.
   • AC Adapter (AC593): If using an AC adapter, connect it to the appropriate terminals on the wiring harness and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
6. Position Receiver: Place the receiver module in a suitable location within the control area, ensuring its antenna is not obstructed for optimal signal reception.

2. Remote Control Battery Installation

1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2x AAA batteries) according to the polarity markings (+/-).
3. Close the battery compartment securely.

3. Pairing the Remote Control with the Receiver (Learning Function)

The remote control and receiver are typically pre-programmed. If they are not paired or if you are replacing a component, follow these steps:

1. Locate the "LEARN" button on the receiver module. This is usually a small button or pinhole.
2. Using a small pointed object (like a paperclip), press and hold the "LEARN" button on the receiver until you hear a long beep or see an indicator light flash (approximately 3 seconds).
3. Within 10 seconds, press any button on your remote control (e.g., the "ON" or "OFF" button).
4. You should hear several short beeps from the receiver, indicating successful pairing.
5. Test the remote control by pressing the "ON" and "OFF" buttons to ensure the fireplace responds.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic ON/OFF Operation

• To turn the fireplace ON, press the ON button on the remote control.
• To turn the fireplace OFF, press the OFF button on the remote control.

2. Thermostatic Mode

The remote control features a thermostatic mode to maintain a desired room temperature.

1. Press the MODE button until "THERMO" or a similar indicator appears on the LCD screen.
2. Use the UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons to set your desired temperature.
3. The fireplace will automatically turn on or off to maintain the set temperature.

3. Timer Function

Set a timer for automatic shutdown of the fireplace.

1. Press the TIMER button (often indicated by a clock icon).
2. Use the UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons to set the desired duration (e.g., in hours).
3. The fireplace will operate for the set duration and then turn off automatically.

4. Temperature Display (Celsius/Fahrenheit)

To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit display:

• With the remote display active, simultaneously press and hold the UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons for approximately 3 seconds. The display unit will change.

5. Child Lock Function

To activate or deactivate the child lock:

• Simultaneously press and hold the ON and MODE buttons for approximately 5 seconds. A "CP" (Child Proof) indicator will appear on the screen when activated. Repeat the process to deactivate.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

• Remote Control: Replace batteries (2x AAA) when the display dims or the remote's range decreases.
• Receiver Module: If using a battery pack, replace batteries (4x AA) annually or when the fireplace fails to ignite via remote.
• Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.

2. Cleaning
