1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the UAZNJFZ F4V3S Flight Controller Board. This board is designed for use in quadcopters and RC drones, supporting both INAV and Betaflight firmware for FPV racing applications. It integrates a barometer for precise altitude holding, an On-Screen Display (OSD) for real-time flight data, and is compatible with the VTX5848 video transmitter and BN880 GPS module.

2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Physical Installation
- Mounting: Secure the F4V3S Flight Controller to your drone frame using the 30.5x30.5mm mounting holes. Ensure proper vibration dampening.
- Power Connection: Connect the main power input (DC 7-27V) to the designated pads. The board provides a 5V 1A output for peripherals.
- ESC Connection: Connect your Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) to the 4x3 pin ESC layout. Refer to your ESC manual for correct wiring.
- Receiver Connection: Connect your RC receiver (SBUS/PPM or Spektrum DSMX) to the appropriate ports.
- VTX Connection (VTX5848):
- Connect the VTX5848 to the dedicated VTX pads on the flight controller. The flight controller can supply 5V to the VTX.
- Ensure the MMCX connector is securely attached to the antenna.
- Camera Connection: Connect your FPV camera (e.g., 800TVL CCD) to the camera input pads. The flight controller can supply 5V to the camera.
- GPS Module (BN880): Connect the BN880 GPS module to the designated UART port.
- SD Card: Insert a formatted SD card into the blackbox slot for flight logging.

2.2 Firmware Configuration (Betaflight/INAV)
The F4V3S Flight Controller supports both Betaflight and INAV firmware.
- Connect to PC: Connect the flight controller to your computer via the USB port.
- Install Configurator: Download and install the latest Betaflight Configurator or INAV Configurator software.
- Flash Firmware:
- Select the correct target for your F4V3S board (e.g., OMNIBUSF4SD for Betaflight, or a similar F4 target for INAV).
- Flash the latest stable firmware version.
- Initial Configuration:
- Perform initial setup steps including accelerometer calibration, port configuration (UARTs for receiver, GPS, VTX SmartAudio), and ESC protocol selection (Dshot recommended).
- Configure OSD settings via the Betaflight/INAV Configurator for desired on-screen information.
- Set up modes (Arm, Angle, Acro, etc.) and assign them to your radio switches.
3. Operation
3.1 Pre-Flight Checks
- Ensure all connections are secure.
- Verify battery voltage and charge level.
- Check propeller direction and tightness.
- Confirm radio control functionality and arming switch.
- For FPV, ensure video feed is clear and VTX channel is correctly set.
3.2 Flight
- Arming: Arm the drone using the configured switch on your radio. The motors will spin at idle speed.
- Take-off: Slowly increase throttle for a smooth take-off.
- OSD Monitoring: Monitor flight data (voltage, current, flight time, RSSI) displayed on your FPV goggles or monitor via the OSD.
- VTX Channel/Power Adjustment: The VTX5848 supports SmartAudio V2, allowing channel and power adjustments via OSD or your radio (if configured). Power output is switchable between 25/100/200/400/600mW.
- Landing: Reduce throttle gradually and disarm the drone after landing.
4. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the flight controller board for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion.
- Cleaning: Gently clean the board with a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Avoid using liquids.
- Firmware Updates: Keep the flight controller firmware updated to the latest stable version of Betaflight or INAV for optimal performance and new features.
- SD Card Management: Regularly back up and clear the SD card used for blackbox logging to ensure continuous data recording.

5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drone does not arm. | Safety checks not met (e.g., low battery, accelerometer not calibrated, throttle too high, pre-arm switch not engaged). | Check Betaflight/INAV Configurator for arming flags. Ensure all pre-arm conditions are met. Calibrate accelerometer. |
| No video feed. | Incorrect VTX channel, loose camera/VTX connection, damaged camera/VTX. | Verify VTX channel matches receiver. Check all video wiring. Test camera and VTX separately if possible. |
| Unstable flight. | Incorrect PID tuning, motor/propeller issues, vibration. | Review PID settings in Configurator. Check for bent propellers or damaged motors. Ensure flight controller is properly soft-mounted. |
| OSD not displaying. | OSD not enabled or configured in firmware, incorrect video format (PAL/NTSC mismatch). | Enable and configure OSD in Betaflight/INAV Configurator. Ensure camera and OSD video formats match. |
| GPS not locking. | Poor satellite visibility, incorrect UART configuration, faulty GPS module. | Operate in an open area. Verify GPS UART settings in Configurator. Check GPS module connection. |
