4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or in the direction indicated by an arrow to open it.
- Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

4.2 Compatibility Note
This remote control is an infrared (IR) replacement unit. It is designed to function with the Technics Mini Changer System models listed in the title. For optimal performance, ensure your original remote control had a similar button layout and that your audio system is an IR-controlled model. No programming or setup is typically required; simply insert batteries and point the remote at your audio system.
5. Operating Instructions
The remote control features a variety of buttons for controlling your Technics Mini Changer System. Refer to the image below for a visual guide to the button layout.

5.1 Basic Functions
- OFF/ON: Powers the audio system on or off.
- VOLUME + / -: Increases or decreases the audio volume.
- MUTING-20dB: Mutes the audio output by 20 decibels. Press again to restore volume.
5.2 Source Selection
- CD: Selects the Compact Disc player as the audio source.
- TAPE: Selects the Cassette Tape deck as the audio source.
- TUNER: Selects the Radio Tuner as the audio source.
5.3 Playback and Navigation Controls
- DISC 1-0, ≥10: Numeric buttons for direct track selection on CD or tuner preset selection.
- PLAY (►): Starts playback for the selected source (CD, Tape).
- PAUSE (▐▐): Pauses playback. Press again to resume.
- STOP (■): Stops playback.
- SKIP (◀◀ / ►►): Skips to the previous or next track/station.
- REWIND (◀◀ TAPE) / FAST FORWARD (►► TAPE): Rewinds or fast forwards the tape.
5.4 Advanced Functions
- EASY PLAY: Initiates easy playback mode for CD, Tape, or Tuner.
- PROGRAM: Enters program mode for CD track sequencing.
- CANCEL: Cancels a program or selection.
- --EQ.SPACE--: Adjusts equalizer settings.
- MODE: Cycles through various playback or tuner modes.
- V.BASS: Activates or deactivates the Virtual Bass enhancement.
- ON/FLAT: Toggles between sound enhancement and flat equalizer settings.
- SLEEP: Sets a timer for the system to automatically power off.
5.5 Recording Controls
- REC (●): Initiates recording on the tape deck.
- REC PAUSE (■▐▐): Pauses recording.
- DECK 1/2: Selects between Tape Deck 1 or Tape Deck 2 for playback or recording.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the remote control, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
6.2 Battery Replacement
