Setup

1. Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard is equipped with a 4000mAh battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C end to the keyboard's port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).

The LCD screen will display the battery level. A full charge provides approximately 48 hours of use with backlighting on, or 266 hours with backlighting off.

2. Connecting the Keyboard

The KY95 supports three connection modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C wired.

2.1. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver.
  2. Plug the receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Switch the keyboard's connection mode to 2.4GHz using the knob or designated key combination (refer to the LCD screen for mode selection).
  4. The keyboard should automatically connect.

2.2. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

  1. Switch the keyboard's connection mode to Bluetooth using the knob or designated key combination.
  2. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.

3. Hot-Swappable Switches

Replacing Switches:

  1. Use the provided switch puller to gently remove the desired switch from the keyboard.
  2. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
  3. Press the new switch firmly into place until it clicks.
  4. Test the key to ensure it functions correctly.

Download the official KUTETHY driver software to customize your keyboard further. This software allows for dynamic GIF animation on the LCD screen, advanced lighting effects, and key function remapping.

Maintenance

2. Keycap Replacement

The KY95 comes with high-quality side-printed PBT keycaps. If you wish to replace them:

  1. Use the keycap puller to gently grip and pull up the keycap you wish to remove.
  2. Align the new keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it is securely seated.

Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
    • Check the connection mode (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, USB-C) and ensure it matches your device's connection.
    • For 2.4GHz, ensure the USB receiver is properly plugged in.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure it's paired correctly and your device's Bluetooth is enabled.
    • Try a wired USB-C connection to rule out wireless issues.
  • Keys not registering or double-typing:
    • The switch might be faulty or not seated correctly. Use the switch puller to remove and re-insert the switch.
    • If the issue persists, try replacing the switch with one of the spare switches provided.
    • Ensure no debris is lodged under the keycap or switch.
  • RGB lighting not working or incorrect:
    • Check lighting settings via the multi-functional knob.
    • Ensure the keyboard is not in a low-power mode that disables lighting.
    • Use the driver software to reset or reconfigure lighting effects.
  • LCD screen not displaying correctly:
    • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
