Thank you for choosing the BAOSHISHAN Aquarium Chiller. This device is designed to maintain a stable and optimal water temperature in your aquarium, providing a comfortable environment for various aquatic life such as fish, axolotls, coral, and jellyfish. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure efficient and safe use of your chiller.
2. Product Features
- Suitable for Small Fish Tanks: Designed for tanks up to 26 gallons, capable of cooling water temperature by 8-10°F. For optimal efficiency in hot climates, a recommended water volume of less than 21 gallons (80% of max) is suggested.
- Upgraded Full Set Accessory: Includes 1 hose clamp and 2 suction cups for secure and organized hose management, ensuring a tidy aquarium setup.
- Powerful Cooling Performance: Utilizes R134a refrigerant for efficient and pollution-free cooling, maintaining water temperatures between 68-78°F.
- Fast Heat Dissipation: Equipped with an efficient heat dissipation fan and side two-way ventilation to quickly remove excess heat. Requires a minimum of 6 inches of space around the chiller for proper air circulation.
- Titanium Coils: Features a pure titanium evaporator for excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for both fresh and salt water environments.
- Low Energy Consumption: Designed for energy efficiency, consuming approximately 3 kWh per day.
- Low Noise Operation: Operates quietly, with noise levels typically between 35-45dB.

4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to set up your aquarium chiller:
- Initial Placement: After receiving the chiller, let it stand upright for at least 24 hours before use. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
- Positioning: Place the chiller on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clear space around all sides of the chiller, especially the back and sides, for adequate air circulation and heat dissipation. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Prepare Water Pipes: The included 3-meter water pipe should be cut into two equal 1.5-meter sections for the input and output connections.
- Connect Pipe Joints: Put the sealing rings onto the chiller's input and output ports. Then, attach the pipe joints to these ports and tighten the fixing nuts securely.
- Connect Hoses: Connect one end of each 1.5-meter water pipe section to the chiller's pipe joints. Secure them with the provided throat hoops (hose clamps) to prevent leaks.
- Install Water Pump: Place the water pump inside your aquarium or a suitable water reservoir. Connect the other end of one water pipe section (input) to the water pump's outlet.
- Return Water to Tank: Position the open end of the second water pipe section (output) back into your aquarium or reservoir, ensuring it is submerged or positioned to return water effectively.
- Secure Hoses: Use the provided hose clamp to secure the water pipes neatly along the aquarium wall. The suction cups can be used to firmly attach the pipes to both sides of the aquarium wall, keeping them organized.
- Power Up and Test: Plug in the chiller and the water pump. Allow the system to run and check for any leaks. Verify that water is circulating properly and the chiller begins to cool. If no leaks are detected and the system functions correctly, proceed to operation.

5. Operating Instructions
The chiller features a digital control panel for easy temperature adjustment.
- Power On: Ensure the chiller is properly connected to a power source. The digital display will light up.
- Setting Temperature:
- Press the SET button. The current shutdown temperature will be displayed (e.g., 68°F).
- Long press the SET key until the 'd' code appears.
- Press the SET key again to display the temperature. Use the UP or DOWN arrows to adjust the desired temperature.
- Press the RST key to save your setting.
- Optimal Temperature Range: For most aquatic life, maintaining a water temperature between 68-78°F (20-25.5°C) is recommended.
- Hot Summer Operation: During hot summer months, elevated ambient temperatures can affect chiller performance. To optimize cooling efficiency, it is recommended to reduce the water volume in your tank to approximately 80% of its maximum capacity (e.g., 21 gallons for a 26-gallon tank). This helps maintain turbulent flow conditions in the heat exchanger tubes.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your chiller:
- Air Circulation: Regularly check that the 6-inch clearance around the chiller is maintained to ensure proper air circulation for heat dissipation. Keep the ventilation grilles free from dust and obstructions.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the chiller with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Water Pump Maintenance: Follow the maintenance instructions for your water pump, as a clogged or inefficient pump can affect the chiller's performance.
- Hose Inspection: Periodically inspect the water pipes and connections for any signs of wear, kinks, or leaks. Replace if necessary.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your chiller, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Chiller Not Turning On:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the chiller and a working electrical outlet.
- Ensure the power switch on the chiller (if present) is in the 'ON' position.
- Water Not Cooling:
- Verify that the water pump is operating and water is circulating through the chiller.
- Check the set temperature on the control panel. Ensure it is lower than the current water temperature.
- Ensure adequate air circulation around the chiller (minimum 6 inches clearance). Blocked vents can hinder heat dissipation.
- Confirm the water volume in your tank is within the recommended capacity for the chiller (up to 26 gallons, or 21 gallons in hot conditions).
- Leaks Detected:
- Immediately unplug the chiller and pump.
- Inspect all hose connections, ensuring they are tight and the hose clamps are properly secured.
- Check the sealing rings on the pipe joints for proper placement and integrity.
- Unusual Noise:
- Ensure the chiller is on a stable, level surface.
- Check for any obstructions in the fan grilles.
- Verify the water pump is not vibrating excessively or drawing air.
If the issue persists after attempting these steps, please contact BAOSHISHAN customer support for further assistance.
