4. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your WIZACE Dash Cam in your vehicle.

4.1 Main Unit Installation:

  1. Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free of dust and grease.
  2. Attach the 3M adhesive mount to the dash cam and then firmly press it onto the cleaned windshield area, ideally behind the rearview mirror to avoid obstructing your view.
  3. Connect the USB-C power cable to the dash cam.
  4. Route the power cable along the edge of the windshield and dashboard to the 12V car charger port, ensuring it does not interfere with driving controls or airbags.

4.2 Rear Camera Installation:

  1. Connect the rear camera cable to the main dash cam unit.
  2. Route the rear camera cable to the back of your vehicle. For a clean installation, tuck the cable along the headliner and side panels. The long cable provided is suitable for various vehicle types, including SUVs and vehicles towing trailers.
  3. Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield or license plate area using the provided adhesive and screws. Ensure the camera has a clear view of the road behind.

4.3 Memory Card Insertion:

  1. Insert the included 64GB TF (micro-SD) memory card into the designated slot on the dash cam. The camera supports up to 256GB Class 10 U3 speed cards.
  2. Important: If formatting the TF card on a computer, ensure it is formatted to FAT32. The exFAT format, common on Windows, is not compatible with this car recorder.

5. Operating Instructions

Understand how to use your dash cam's features for optimal performance.

5.1 Power On/Off:

  • The dash cam will automatically power on when your vehicle's ignition is started and power off when the ignition is turned off.
  • A built-in 180mAh battery allows the camera to continue recording for a short period after the vehicle is turned off, useful for parking surveillance.

5.2 Recording Modes:

  • The dash cam simultaneously records video from the front, in-car, and rear cameras.
  • Videos are displayed on the IPS screen, providing live feedback from all three perspectives.
  • All video files are saved in MOV format.

5.3 Loop Recording:

  • When the memory card is full, the loop recording function automatically overwrites the oldest unprotected files. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.

5.4 G-Sensor (Gravity-Shock Sensor):

  • In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-Sensor detects the event and automatically locks the current video footage. This prevents the file from being overwritten by loop recording, preserving it as evidence.

5.5 24-Hour Parking Mode:

  • The dash cam supports 24-hour parking surveillance. This mode can be activated via low bitrate recording (continuous, lower quality to maximize duration) or motion/collision detection (records only when triggered).
  • Note: For continuous 24-hour parking mode, the dash cam must be connected to a hardwire kit (not included) or an external battery.

5.6 Night Vision & WDR:

  • Equipped with F2.0 large aperture and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology, the dash cam provides clear video and images in low-light conditions, making it suitable for night use.
  • Infrared (IR) night vision further enhances visibility for the in-car camera.

5.7 Time Synchronization:

  • The dash cam automatically synchronizes the date and time (year, month, day, hour, minute) for accurate timestamping of all recordings.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your dash cam.

6.1 Memory Card Care:

  • Regularly format the memory card (every 1-2 months) to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth operation.
  • Always format the card using the dash cam's menu settings for best compatibility. If formatting on a computer, use FAT32.

6.2 Cleaning:

  • Gently wipe the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust or smudges. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Keep the dash cam unit clean and free from debris.

6.3 Environmental Conditions:

  • Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods.
  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F)
  • Storage Temperature: -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F)
  • Operating Humidity: 15-65% RH

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your dash cam, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Camera not powering on: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the 12V car charger. Check if the car charger is receiving power.
  • Recording stops unexpectedly: The memory card might be full or corrupted. Format the card or replace it. Ensure the card is Class 10 U3 or higher.
  • Poor video quality: Clean the camera lenses. Check the resolution settings in the menu. Ensure WDR and night vision features are enabled in low-light conditions.
  • Rear camera not displaying: Check the connection of the rear camera cable to the main unit. Ensure the cable is not damaged.
  • Dash cam freezes: Reset the device using the reset button (if available) or by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

If the problem persists, please contact WIZACE customer support for further assistance.
