4. Safety Information

This device emits a Class II laser. Please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Do not stare directly into the laser beam.
  • Do not aim the laser beam at people or animals.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to the laser beam.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the device.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children.
  • Use only as described in this manual.
  • Do not operate the device in explosive environments.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert the two 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Power On/Off

Press the Power ON / OFF Button (Power button icon) to turn the device on. The display will light up. To turn off the device, press and hold the Power ON / OFF Button for a few seconds, or the device will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity to save power.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Understanding the Display

The LCD display provides various information during operation:

  • Laser On Icon: Indicates the laser is active.
  • Memory Icon: Shows when data is stored or being recalled.
  • Battery Status Icon: Displays current battery level.
  • Reference Point: Indicates whether measurements are taken from the front or back of the device.
  • Measurement Values: Displays current, minimum, maximum, and calculated values.
  • Unit Indicator: Shows the current unit of measurement (M, FT, IN, ft+in).
  • Measurement Mode Icons: Indicates the active measurement mode (e.g., single, continuous, area, volume, Pythagorean).

6.2. Changing Measurement Units

To switch between measurement units (Meters, Feet, Inches, Feet+Inches), long press the Unit Button (Unit button icon) located on the keypad.

6.3. Setting Reference Point

The device can measure from its front edge or its back edge. Press the Reference Point / Unit Button (the button above the Unit button on the keypad) to toggle between front and back reference points. An icon on the display will indicate the active reference point.

6.4. Single Distance Measurement

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Aim the laser at the target point.
  3. Press the Measure Button (Measure button icon). The laser will activate.
  4. Press the Measure Button again to take the measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.

6.5. Continuous Measurement

Continuous measurement allows you to track distances as you move the device. This mode displays the maximum and minimum distances, as well as the current distance.

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Press the Continuous Measurement Button (the button below the Measure button on the keypad). The laser will activate and continuously measure.
  3. Move the device to scan the desired area. The display will update in real-time.
  4. Press the Measure Button or Clear Button to exit continuous measurement mode.

6.6. Area Measurement

  1. Press the Menu Button (Menu button icon) until the area measurement icon (Area measurement icon) appears on the display.
  2. Take the first measurement (e.g., length) by pressing the Measure Button.
  3. Take the second measurement (e.g., width) by pressing the Measure Button again.
  4. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.

6.7. Volume Measurement

  1. Press the Menu Button until the volume measurement icon (Volume measurement icon) appears on the display.
  2. Take the first measurement (length) by pressing the Measure Button.
  3. Take the second measurement (width) by pressing the Measure Button.
  4. Take the third measurement (height) by pressing the Measure Button.
  5. The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.

6.8. Pythagorean Measurement

The Pythagorean mode allows indirect measurement of heights or distances using the Pythagorean theorem (a² + b² = c²).

  1. Press the Menu Button until the Pythagorean measurement icon (Pythagorean measurement icon) appears on the display.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse, base).
  3. The device will calculate and display the unknown side.

6.9. Data Storage and Recall

The device can store up to 100 sets of measurement data.

  1. After a measurement is taken, it is automatically stored.
  2. To recall stored data, press the Memory Button (Memory button icon).
  3. Use the Addition / Subtraction Buttons to navigate through the stored records.
  4. To clear data, refer to the "Clear" function.

6.10. Addition and Subtraction

You can add or subtract measurements directly on the device.

  1. Take a measurement.
  2. Press the Addition / Subtraction Button (Addition / Subtraction button icon) to select addition or subtraction.
  3. Take the next measurement.
  4. The device will display the calculated sum or difference.

6.11. Mute Function

To mute or unmute the device's audible feedback, press the Clear (Return) / Mute Button (Clear / Mute button icon) for a short press.

6.12. Clear Function

To clear the last measurement or exit a menu, press the Clear (Return) / Mute Button (Clear / Mute button icon).

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

Regularly clean the device, especially the laser lens and display, with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7.2. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in its portable bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
