4. Setup and Installation
Careful soldering and correct wiring are essential for proper function and safety. Refer to the diagrams below for guidance.
4.1 Soldering the XT60 Plug
The package includes an Amass XT60 plug that needs to be soldered onto the distribution board. Ensure correct polarity: the positive (+) terminal of the XT60 plug connects to the '+' pad on the PDB, and the negative (-) terminal connects to the '-' pad.
4.2 Connecting ESCs
Solder your Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) to the designated pads on the PDB. The board supports up to 6 ESCs, suitable for X-frame or H-frame layouts. Ensure each ESC's positive and negative wires are connected to the corresponding '+' and '-' pads.
4.3 Connecting Peripherals (5V and 12V)
The board provides regulated 5V and 12V outputs for various components:
- 5V Output: Connect your flight controller, OSD, or RC receiver to the 5V and GND pads.
- 12V Output: Connect your FPV camera or video transmitter (VTX) to the 12V and GND pads.

4.4 Mounting
The board features 30.5mm x 30.5mm mounting holes with a 3mm diameter, compatible with most standard drone frames. Ensure the board is securely mounted and does not come into contact with conductive materials, especially carbon fiber, which can cause short circuits.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and wired correctly, connect a 3S or 4S LiPo battery to the XT60 input. The LED power indicators for 5V and 12V outputs will illuminate, confirming power delivery to your components.
- Input Voltage: The board operates with 3S (9-12.6V) to 4S (12.6-16.8V) LiPo batteries.
- 12V BEC Output with 3S LiPo: If using a 3S LiPo battery, the 12V BEC output will be approximately 1V lower than the actual battery voltage (e.g., 11.1V LiPo will yield ~10.1V output). This is due to the linear regulator design. For a stable 12V output, a 4S LiPo is required.
- Load Limits: The 12V BEC can support one 12V camera and one 600mW image transmission module at most. Exceeding load limits may cause instability or damage.
6. Maintenance
The PDB XT60 board is designed for durability. Regular maintenance involves:
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check for any loose solder joints, damaged components, or debris.
- Cleaning: Keep the board free from dust and moisture. Use a soft brush or compressed air for cleaning.
- Connection Integrity: Ensure all connections remain secure and free from corrosion.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power Output:
- Verify battery connection and polarity.
- Check for short circuits on the board or connected components.
- Ensure input voltage is within the 9-18V DC range.
- Unstable 12V Output:
- Confirm you are using a 4S LiPo for a stable 12V. With 3S, the output will be lower.
- Reduce the load on the 12V BEC if it exceeds specifications (e.g., multiple high-power devices).
- Interference in Video Signal:
- Ensure proper grounding of all video components.
- The 12V linear regulator is designed for low ripple; if interference persists, check for external noise sources or faulty components.
8. Safety Warnings
- Polarity: Always pay close attention to input polarity. Reversing polarity will damage the board and connected components.
- Short Circuits: Avoid touching the carbon fiber board behind the distributor board, as this may cause a short circuit. Ensure no conductive materials come into contact with the PDB.
- Soldering: Exercise caution when soldering. Use appropriate safety gear and ensure good ventilation.
- Battery Handling: Handle LiPo batteries with care. Do not overcharge, over-discharge, or puncture them.
- Age Recommendation: This product is recommended for users aged 14 months and up, implying it is not a toy and requires responsible handling.
