4. Product Overview

The Longriver MX08 consists of two main components: a hydro-powered sensor and a wireless display unit.

4.1 Hydro-Powered Sensor

This unit is installed inline with your showerhead. It generates power from the water flow to measure temperature and transmit data wirelessly to the display unit. It is designed to fit standard American showerheads and pipes.

4.2 Wireless Display Unit

The display unit shows the water temperature in real-time with a response speed of 0.25 seconds. It features a large digital display and three color indicator lights (blue, green, red) to visually represent temperature ranges. The display can be mounted up to 6.56 feet from the sensor.

5. Setup and Installation

Installation of the Longriver MX08 is quick and straightforward, typically taking less than 3 minutes.

  1. Prepare the Display Unit: Press the power button on the back of the display unit to turn it on.
  2. Mount the Display Unit: Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the mounting plate. Attach the mounting plate to a clean, dry wall surface at your desired eye-level viewing position.
  3. Install the Sensor Unit: Unscrew your existing showerhead from the shower arm. Screw the Longriver MX08 sensor unit onto the shower arm. Ensure it is hand-tightened to prevent leaks.
  4. Attach Showerhead: Screw your showerhead onto the other end of the Longriver MX08 sensor unit. Ensure it is hand-tightened.
  5. Verify Connection: Turn on the shower water. The display unit should automatically show the water temperature. If not, ensure the sensor is correctly installed and the display is powered on and within range.

Important Note: Ensure the inlet and outlet directions of the sensor are correct. Reversing the connection will prevent proper function.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Longriver MX08 automatically monitors and displays the water temperature when water flows through the sensor.

6.1 Reading the Display

The large digital display shows the current water temperature in Fahrenheit (°F). The temperature sensing range is 0-188°F.

6.2 Color Indicator Lights

The display unit features a color-coded indicator light to provide a quick visual reference of the water temperature:

  • Blue Light: Water temperature is too low (below 86°F).
  • Green Light: Water temperature is suitable (between 86°F and 104°F).
  • Red Light: Water temperature is too high (above 104°F).
