3.2 Pairing the Units

The indoor unit (TH2) and outdoor transmitter (TH3) are typically pre-paired at the factory. Once batteries are installed in both units, they should automatically connect within a few minutes. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings will appear on the indoor unit's display.

If the outdoor readings do not appear:

  • Ensure both units have fresh batteries.
  • Bring the outdoor transmitter closer to the indoor unit.
  • On the indoor unit, locate the "CH" or "Channel" button (refer to Image 3.1 for button location). Press and hold this button for a few seconds to initiate a re-pairing search. The outdoor unit's indicator light may flash during this process.

3.3 Placement Guidelines

Indoor Unit (TH2):

  • Desktop Placement: Use the integrated stand to place the unit on a flat surface.
  • Wall Mounting: Utilize the hanging hole on the back to mount it on a wall using a screw.
  • Magnetic Mounting: The unit can be attached to metallic surfaces using its magnetic back.
  • Place the indoor unit in a central location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts that could affect readings.

Outdoor Transmitter (TH3):

  • Mount the outdoor sensor in a shaded area to prevent direct sunlight from affecting temperature readings.
  • Ensure it is protected from heavy rain or snow, despite its IP66 rating, to prolong its lifespan. While IP66 is water-resistant, it is not designed for submersion.
  • Place it within the 330 ft (100m) wireless range of the indoor unit, minimizing obstacles like thick walls or large metal objects between the units.
  • Use the keyhole mount on the back for secure installation.

4.2 Backlight Function

To activate the backlight, gently touch the light bulb icon located at the bottom of the indoor unit's display. The backlight will illuminate for several seconds, making readings visible in low-light conditions.

4.3 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

Locate the °C/°F button on the back of the indoor unit (refer to Image 3.1). Press this button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature displays.

4.4 Max/Min Records

The device automatically records the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values over a period. To view these records, press the "MAX/MIN" button on the back of the indoor unit (refer to Image 3.1). Each press will cycle through current, maximum, and minimum readings. To clear the records, press and hold the "MAX/MIN" button for a few seconds.

4.5 Channel Selection (for multiple sensors)

While this package includes one outdoor sensor (TH3), the indoor unit (TH2) supports up to 4 wireless channels. If you purchase additional compatible outdoor sensors, you can switch between their readings using the "CH" or "Channel" button on the back of the indoor unit. A short press will cycle through available channels. To enter channel selection status for pairing, long press the "CH" button.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the batteries in the respective unit (TH2 or TH3) with fresh ones of the correct type (2 AAA for TH2, 2 AA for TH3). Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing. Ensure the outdoor sensor's vents are clear of debris.

5.3 Environmental Considerations

Although the outdoor sensor is IP66 waterproof, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (e.g., direct heavy downpours, freezing rain, or intense heat) may reduce its lifespan. Position it in a sheltered outdoor location if possible.
