Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your E-Book Reader. Connect the provided USB cable to the device's charging port and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator will typically light up during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged.

2. Powering On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the power button (usually located on the top or side edge) for a few seconds until the screen activates.
  • To power off, press and hold the power button until a power-off menu appears, then select "Power off". A short press will typically put the device to sleep.

3. Initial Setup

Upon first power-on, follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, connect to a Wi-Fi network (if available and desired for content downloads), and configure basic settings.

Operating Instructions

1. Navigating the Interface

The BK576 features a touch screen for navigation. Tap to select items, swipe to scroll through pages or menus. Physical buttons on the side may also be available for page turning or menu navigation.

2. Reading E-Books

  • Opening Books: Tap on a book cover from your library to open it.
  • Page Turning: Tap the left or right side of the screen, or use the physical page-turn buttons (if present).
  • Adjusting Text: While reading, tap the center of the screen to bring up reading options. You can adjust font size, font type, line spacing, and margins.
  • Supported Formats: The device supports TXT, EPUB, PDF, MOBI, FB2, FB2.ZIP, PRC, RTF, HTML, DOC, DOCX, PDB, AZW3, TCR.

3. Managing Content

  • Transferring Files: Connect the e-reader to your computer using the USB cable. The device will appear as a removable storage device. You can drag and drop supported files into the appropriate folders.
  • Memory Expansion: The device includes a memory card slot supporting up to 64GB (memory card not included) for additional storage.
  • Audio and Image Support: The device supports MP3, OGG, AAC, M4A, FLAC, WAV audio formats and JPG, BMP, PNG image formats.

4. Using the Stylus and Writing Tablet

The included stylus and writing tablet can be used for note-taking or drawing functions if supported by the device's software. Refer to the device's on-screen help or specific applications for detailed usage.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen and body of the e-reader. Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or solvents, as these can damage the screen or finish. Avoid getting moisture into openings.

2. Battery Care

  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold), as this can degrade battery performance.
  • For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% and store the device in a cool, dry place.
  • Use only the provided or a compatible USB cable for charging.

3. Software Updates

Periodically check for software updates through the device's settings menu (if available). Updates can improve performance, add features, and fix bugs.
