2. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before using the device. Failure to follow these instructions may result in laser radiation exposure, electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

2.1 Laser Safety

  • This device emits a Class 2 laser. Do not stare directly into the laser beam or direct it at other people.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the device. Unauthorized repairs can cause laser radiation exposure.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children.

2.2 Battery Safety

  • Use only AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
  • Insert batteries with correct polarity (+/-).
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

4.1 Device Components

  1. START Button: Powers on the device, initiates measurement.
  2. FUNC Button: Cycles through measurement modes (Single, Continuous, Area, Volume, Pythagorean).
  3. +/- Button: Activates addition/subtraction function.
  4. CLEAR Button: Clears current measurement, exits mode, or powers off the device (long press).
  5. Unit/Reference Point Button: Changes measurement units (m, ft, in, ft/in) and switches reference point (front/rear of device).

  • Battery Indicator: Shows remaining battery life.
  • Laser On Indicator: Illuminates when the laser is active.
  • Reference Point Indicator: Shows whether measurements are taken from the front or rear of the device.
  • Measurement Data: Displays current and previous measurement values.
  • Unit Indicator: Shows the selected unit (m, ft, in, ft/in).
  • Mode Indicator: Displays the active measurement mode (e.g., Area, Volume, Pythagorean).
  • Error Indicator: Alerts to measurement errors.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the START button. The laser will activate.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the CLEAR button for approximately 3 seconds. The device also features an auto-off function after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6.2 Unit Conversion

To change the measurement unit (meters, feet, inches, feet/inches), press the Unit/Reference Point button repeatedly until the desired unit is displayed.

6.3 Measurement Modes

Press the FUNC button to cycle through the available measurement modes.

  1. Single Distance Measurement:
    Press START once to activate the laser. Press START again to take a single measurement. The result will be displayed.
  2. Continuous Measurement (Min/Max):
    Press FUNC until the continuous measurement icon appears. Press START to begin continuous measurement. The device will display the current, minimum, and maximum distances. Press START again to stop.
  3. Area Measurement:
    Press FUNC until the area icon appears. Press START to measure the first side (length). Press START again to measure the second side (width). The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
  4. Volume Measurement:
    Press FUNC until the volume icon appears. Press START for length, then START for width, and finally START for height. The device will calculate and display the volume.
  5. Pythagorean Measurement:
    Press FUNC until the desired Pythagorean mode icon appears (e.g., single Pythagorean for hypotenuse, double Pythagorean for height). Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the required sides. The device will calculate the indirect measurement.

6.4 Addition and Subtraction

After taking a measurement, press the +/- button to enter addition or subtraction mode. Take another measurement, and the device will add or subtract it from the previous result.

6.5 Data Recording

The device automatically saves up to 30 sets of measurement data. To retrieve or delete data, refer to the specific instructions in the full user manual. The data recording function allows for easy review of past measurements.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Clean the laser lens carefully with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure accurate measurements.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the device in its protective pouch in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
