6. Maintenance

6.1 After Each Use

  1. Unplug and Cool Down: Always turn off the power switch and unplug the steam cleaner. Allow the unit to cool down completely before handling or storing.
  2. Release Residual Steam: If there is still pressure in the tank, hold down the steam trigger (you can lock the steam switch for continuous steam) to accelerate the release of steam until no more steam is emitted.
  3. Empty Water Tank: Once the unit is cool and depressurized, carefully unscrew the safety cap and empty any remaining water from the tank.
  4. Loosen Safety Cap: After emptying, loosen the safety cap by one turn. This prevents the cap from becoming difficult to open over time due to pressure changes or residue.
  5. Clean Accessories: Rinse or wipe down all used accessories. Microfiber pads and towel sleeves can be machine washed.

6.2 Storage

Store the steam cleaner and its accessories in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

6.3 Descaling (Recommended)

To prevent mineral build-up, especially if using tap water (though distilled water is highly recommended), periodically descale the unit. Consult the Troubleshooting Guide (PDF) for detailed descaling instructions.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Phueut CB-08C Steam Cleaner.

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Q1: Why is the steam ready light not on while heating?
A1: The steam ready light does not change during heating. Once heating is complete (approximately 5-6 minutes), the light will turn green. If the water tank runs out of water, the light will turn red, indicating it's time to refill.
  • Q2: Why can't I open the safety cap immediately after use?
A2: The safety cap cannot be opened immediately because the steamer still contains steam and pressure. To safely release the steam and open the cap, first turn off the power and unplug the device. Then, hold down the steam trigger to accelerate the release of steam. Once the steam has been fully released and the device has cooled down, you can safely open the cap.
  • Q3: How much water should I add?
A3: We recommend filling the steamer with no more than 50.7 oz (1.5 L) of water. Overfilling may cause leaks during heating and use. Always unplug the device before refilling to avoid burns.
  • Q4: Why is it important to loosen the cap after each use?
A4: If left tightly closed, the cap may become difficult to open over time. To avoid this, please loosen the cap by one turn after each use.
  • Q5: Do I need to use a cleaner to remove grease?
A5: It depends on the level of grease. High-temperature steam can soften most grease, and a simple wipe will remove it. For heavier grease, you may want to spray a cleaner first, then use the high-pressure steam to clean it off. Note: Only water should be added to the water tank—do not add any cleaning agents.
