2.2 Power Supply

The PAPIFEED automatic feeder supports dual-mode power supply: plug-in via the provided USB cable and adapter, and backup battery (4 AA batteries, not included). It automatically switches to backup power during outages, ensuring continuous feeding. For daily use, maintaining dual power supply mode is recommended to ensure the backup battery is always ready.

2.3 Filling the Food Bin

To fill the food bin, rotate the knob-type bin cover to the 'OPEN' position and lift. Pour dry pet food into the 3L capacity bin. The transparent window allows for easy monitoring of food levels. Once filled, rotate the cover back to the 'CLOSE' position to secure it and prevent pets from accessing the food.

2.4 Placing the Feeding Bowl

Place the stainless steel feeding bowl securely beneath the food outlet of the feeder. The bowl is designed to fit snugly to prevent displacement during feeding.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Programmable Timed Feeding

The feeder allows you to customize a healthy feeding schedule for your pet. You can set 1-4 meals per day and 1-6 portions of food per meal. This precise control helps manage your pet's diet and health, preventing overfeeding or starvation. The feeder will strictly adhere to the set schedule, even if you are away.

3.3 Recommended Kibble Size and Food Types

The feeder is designed to work optimally with kibble sizes between 0.2-0.47 inches (5-12mm). It is suitable for dry food, freeze-dried food, mixed food, and air-dried food.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

The PAPIFEED automatic feeder features a split design, allowing the grain bin and grain outlet channel to be completely disassembled. These parts can be directly rinsed with clean water, eliminating sanitary dead corners and preventing bacterial growth. The stainless steel bowl is also removable and easy to clean.

4.2 Moisture Control

The feeder includes a built-in desiccant box and a sealed grain bin. This design effectively isolates moisture, preventing cat food from becoming damp and spoiling, ensuring freshness from the first feeding to the last.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Feeder not dispensing food: Check power supply (plug-in or batteries). Ensure the food bin is not empty and the food outlet is not clogged.
  • Food getting damp: Ensure the desiccant box is properly installed and the bin cover is securely closed. Replace desiccant as needed.
  • Pet accessing food directly: Verify the knob-type bin cover is fully rotated to the 'CLOSE' position.
  • Programming issues: Refer to the detailed instructions in the user manual for app connectivity and schedule setup.
