4.2 Physical Installation

The unit is designed to integrate seamlessly with your vehicle's dashboard. No cutting or jointing of wires is typically required. Connect the provided cables to their respective ports on the head unit and the vehicle's existing wiring harness. Ensure all connections are secure.

4.3 Initial Bluetooth Connection

After completing all wiring connections for 7-inch and 8-inch models, it is essential to connect to Bluetooth. Failure to do so will result in no sound from your unit. This initial Bluetooth pairing is critical for proper audio output and system functionality.

• Screen Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronic screens. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemical cleaners.
• Temperature Control: Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures (very hot or very cold) for extended periods, as this can affect internal components.
• Software Updates: Periodically check for and install available software updates to ensure you have the latest features, bug fixes, and security enhancements.
• Connection Check: Occasionally inspect the cable connections to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your head unit, refer to the following common problems and their solutions:

7.1 No Sound After Installation

This is a common issue if the initial Bluetooth connection to your vehicle's OEM system is not correctly established. The head unit's internal Carplay/Android Auto Bluetooth (often labeled GT6-BTD or similar) might be paired instead of your vehicle's native Bluetooth (e.g., 'myChevrolet' or 'myGMC').

1. Unpair Incorrect Devices: Go to Settings > System > Android Settings > Connected devices. If you see 'GT6-BT-140D' or any 'GT6' labeled device, select it and choose 'Forget Device'.
2. Clear Phone Bluetooth: On your smartphone, go to your Bluetooth settings and 'forget' or 'delete' any 'GT6' devices that may have been previously paired.
3. Pair Correct Vehicle Bluetooth: From the head unit's main console, go to Phone > Connect Phone > Add Phone. Look for your vehicle's name (e.g., 'myChevrolet' or 'myGMC') in the list of available devices and pair with it. Confirm the pairing code on both devices.

7.2 Other Common Issues

• Unit Not Powering On: Check all power connections and ensure they are securely seated. Verify your vehicle's fuse box for any blown fuses related to the radio or accessory power.
• Touchscreen Unresponsive: Try restarting the unit. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (refer to Section 4.1 for navigation to Android Settings, then look for Factory Reset).
• GPS Signal Issues: Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear line of sight to the sky. Avoid placing it under metal objects.
• App Performance: If apps are slow or crashing, try clearing the app's cache (Android Settings > Apps > [Select App] > Storage > Clear Cache) or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
