4. Setup and Installation
Warning: Electrical system installation can be complex and potentially hazardous. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by qualified professionals to ensure safety and proper function.
Before beginning installation, ensure the vehicle's battery is disconnected. Refer to the detailed wiring diagrams provided below and with your product for correct connections.

Figure 4.1: Numbered Installation Diagram.
4.1 Connection Points Overview (Refer to Figure 4.1)
- Solenoid Relay: Connect the solenoid relay to its designated harness connector.
- 8 Pole Stator: Connect the 8-pole stator wires to the main harness. Ensure the two fixing holes align correctly.
- Ignition Coil: Connect the ignition coil. Be careful not to confuse brake wires with ignition coil connections, as some connectors may appear similar.
- 6 Pin CDI Box: Plug the 6-pin AC CDI box into its corresponding connector on the harness.
- Multi-functional ATV Switch: Connect the multi-functional ATV switch. This switch typically has two male plugs (one 8-pin, one 4-pin) and 10 total wires.
- Rectifier: Connect the voltage regulator rectifier to its harness connector.
- Battery Connections (-): Connect the negative (-) battery terminal wire.
- Battery Connections (+): Connect the positive (+) battery terminal wire.
- Ignition Switch: Connect the key starter ignition switch.
- Spark Plug: Install the spark plug into the engine cylinder head and connect the ignition coil lead.
4.2 Detailed Wiring Schematic
For a comprehensive understanding of the wiring paths and color codes, consult the detailed schematic below:

Figure 4.2: ATV 150cc GY6 Detailed Installation Drawings.
Key considerations during installation:
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly seated.
- Verify wire colors match the diagram for each component.
- Pay close attention to the magneto stator wiring (8 Pole 5 Wire, 2 fixing holes) for correct orientation.
- After installation, double-check all connections before reconnecting the battery.
5. Operating
Once the wiring harness kit is correctly installed, the vehicle's electrical system will function as designed. The ignition switch controls power to the system, allowing the engine to start. The multi-functional ATV switch provides control over various vehicle functions such as lights, horn, and engine kill switch, depending on its specific configuration.
The 6 Pin AC CDI box and ignition coil work in conjunction to provide the necessary spark for engine combustion, ensuring efficient starting and running. The voltage regulator rectifier manages the electrical output from the stator, charging the battery and regulating voltage to protect other electrical components from overload.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance of your wiring harness kit ensures longevity and reliable performance:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring and connections for signs of wear, fraying, corrosion, or loose connections.
- Cleanliness: Keep electrical components clean and free from dirt, moisture, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Corrosion Prevention: Apply dielectric grease to electrical connectors to prevent corrosion, especially in humid or wet environments.
- Secure Wiring: Ensure all wires are properly routed and secured to prevent chafing or damage from vibration.
- Spark Plug Replacement: Replace the spark plug according to your vehicle's maintenance schedule or if performance issues arise.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after installing the wiring harness kit, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Power/Engine Not Starting:
- Check battery connections for tightness and corrosion.
- Verify the ignition switch is functioning correctly and receiving power.
- Inspect the starter relay solenoid for proper connection and function.
- Ensure the 6 Pin AC CDI box and ignition coil are correctly wired and connected.
- Check the spark plug for proper gap and condition.
- Electrical Components Not Working (e.g., lights, horn):
- Inspect the multi-functional ATV switch connections. Some users have reported issues with switch wiring.
- Verify the rectifier is properly connected and regulating voltage.
- Check for any blown fuses in the system (if applicable to your vehicle's design).
- Incorrect Wiring/Mismatched Plugs:
- Carefully re-examine the wiring diagram (Figure 4.2) and compare it to your installation.
- Ensure all plugs are fully seated and that no wires have been incorrectly routed or connected to similar-looking but incompatible terminals.
- Some specific connections, like the ignition coil, may require attention to ensure the correct wire is used (e.g., changing an eyehole terminal to a female spade adapter if needed for a specific coil type).
- Overheating Components:
- This could indicate an overload or short circuit. Immediately disconnect the battery and inspect all wiring for damage or incorrect connections.
- Ensure the voltage regulator rectifier is functioning to prevent overcharging.
If issues persist after troubleshooting, it is advisable to consult a professional mechanic or contact EOPOAYI customer support.
