This compact and versatile device is designed to provide guitarists with a wide range of effects, amp models, and essential tools in a portable format. It features 9 effect modules, 100 presets, 20 amp/cab models, a built-in tuner, drum machine, looper, USB audio interface, OTG function for mobile recording, and Bluetooth audio connectivity for practice and control.

This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure you get the most out of your Pocket Master.

4. Product Overview

4.1. Controls and Connectors

  1. Display Screen: Shows current preset, effect modules, tuner, drum machine, and looper status.
  2. VALUE/VOL Knob: Multi-function knob for adjusting parameters, navigating menus, and controlling overall volume.
  3. Navigation/Tuner Buttons: Used for navigating presets, menus, and activating the tuner function.
  4. IN Jack: 1/4-inch input for your guitar.
  5. OUT/PHONES Jack: 1/4-inch output for connecting to an amplifier, mixer, or headphones.
  6. USB Type-C Port (Data/Power): Connects to a computer for use as an audio interface, firmware updates, and power.
  7. USB Type-C Port (Power Only): Dedicated port for power supply.

5. Setup

5.1. Powering the Device

The Pocket Master can be powered via its internal rechargeable battery or by connecting a USB Type-C cable to a power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, power bank, or computer).

  • Internal Battery: The built-in battery provides up to 4 hours of operation. Charge the device using either USB Type-C port.
  • External Power: Connect a USB Type-C cable to either USB port and a suitable 5V DC power adapter.

5.2. Connecting Your Equipment

  1. Connect your guitar to the IN jack.
  2. Connect headphones, an amplifier, or a mixer to the OUT/PHONES jack.
  3. Press and hold the VALUE/VOL knob to power on the device.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Navigation

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the VALUE/VOL knob.
  • Adjust Volume: Rotate the VALUE/VOL knob in the main screen.
  • Change Presets: Use the left and right navigation buttons.
  • Enter/Exit Menu: Press the VALUE/VOL knob.
  • Navigate Menus: Rotate the VALUE/VOL knob.
  • Confirm Selection: Press the VALUE/VOL knob.

6.2. Effects Modules and Presets

The Pocket Master features 9 effect modules and 20 legendary amp/cab models, offering over 100 high-quality effects. You can arrange up to 9 effect blocks simultaneously in a customizable signal chain.

  • Selecting Presets: Use the left and right navigation buttons to cycle through the 100 available presets.
  • Editing Effects: Press the VALUE/VOL knob to enter the effect editing menu. Select an effect module, then rotate the knob to adjust parameters. Press the knob again to confirm changes or exit.
  • Saving Presets: After editing, navigate to the save option in the menu to store your custom preset.

6.3. Tuner Function

To activate the built-in tuner, press the TUNER button (center button between navigation buttons). The display will show the note being played and indicate if it is sharp, flat, or in tune. Press the TUNER button again to exit.

6.4. Drum Machine and Looper

The Pocket Master includes 100 drum rhythms and a looper function for practice and creative exploration.

  • Accessing Drum Machine/Looper: Navigate through the main menu using the VALUE/VOL knob to find the Drum Machine or Looper section.
  • Drum Machine: Select a rhythm, adjust tempo (BPM) and volume.
  • Looper: Record, overdub, play, and stop loops. The looper has a limited recording time.

6.5. USB Audio Interface

Connect the Pocket Master to your computer via the USB Type-C data port to use it as an audio interface for recording or playback. It supports 24-bit 44.1 kHz signal processing.

6.6. OTG Function

The OTG (On-The-Go) function allows direct connection to compatible iOS/Android mobile devices for recording or live streaming. Use a suitable OTG cable (not included) to connect the Pocket Master to your smartphone or tablet.

6.7. Bluetooth Connectivity

The Pocket Master supports Bluetooth audio for streaming backing tracks from your mobile device and Bluetooth control via the SonicLink App.

  • Bluetooth Audio: Pair your mobile device with the Pocket Master to stream audio for practice.
  • Bluetooth Control: Use the SonicLink App (available for iOS/Android) to manage presets, adjust parameters, and control the device wirelessly.

7. SonicLink App and Software

The SonicLink App (for mobile devices) and desktop software (for Mac/Windows) provide advanced control and management features for your Pocket Master.

  • Preset Management: Create, edit, save, and organize presets.
  • IR Management: Import and manage third-party Impulse Responses (IRs) for cabinet simulation (5 user slots available).
  • Firmware Updates: Keep your device up-to-date with the latest features and improvements.
  • Tone Sharing: Share your custom tones with the community.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

8.2. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.

9. Troubleshooting

  • No Sound: Check all cable connections (guitar, headphones/amp). Ensure the volume knob is turned up. Verify the device is powered on and charged.
  • Poor Sound Quality: Check guitar and output cables for damage. Ensure correct input levels. Adjust effect parameters and amp models.
  • Bluetooth Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the Pocket Master and your mobile device. Try unpairing and re-pairing the devices.
  • Device Not Responding: Try restarting the device by holding the power button. If unresponsive, allow the battery to fully discharge and then recharge.
  • App/Software Issues: Ensure you have the latest version of the SonicLink App or desktop software. Check for firmware updates for the Pocket Master.
