Installation Guide

Professional installation is recommended. If you choose to install it yourself, proceed with caution. Disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting any electrical work.

Before You Begin:

  • Gather all necessary tools (provided installation tool, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc.).
  • Review your vehicle's specific dashboard disassembly instructions.
  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected.

General Installation Steps:

  1. Carefully remove the original car radio and dashboard trim.
  2. Connect the main power harness from the new stereo to the vehicle's wiring harness. Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Connect the Canbus box if your vehicle requires it for steering wheel controls or other integrated functions.
  4. Connect the GPS antenna and position it in a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., on the dashboard).
  5. Connect the USB cables, microphone, and any other auxiliary inputs as needed.
  6. If installing a rear camera, route the camera cable to the back of the vehicle.
  7. Test all functions (power, audio, radio, GPS, camera, steering wheel controls) before fully reassembling the dashboard.
  8. Carefully reassemble the dashboard trim and secure the new stereo unit.

Connecting the Backup Camera:

The reversing input must be plugged in even if the reversing camera is not used. Follow these steps for camera connection:

Diagram illustrating the wiring connections for the backup camera: 1. Connect to positive terminal of reverse light. 2. Connect to negative terminal of reverse light. 3 & 4. No need to connect these as the reversing trigger is controlled by the stereo via Canbus.

  1. Connect the camera's positive power wire to the positive terminal of the vehicle's reverse light.
  2. Connect the camera's negative power wire to the negative terminal of the vehicle's reverse light.
  3. The reversing trigger is controlled by the stereo via the Canbus system, so additional trigger wire connections (labeled 3 and 4 in some diagrams) are typically not required.
