Setup and Installation

1. Choose Installation Type: Dual-Mount

The Hyperion 24 sink supports two installation methods: Drop-In (top-mount) and Undermount. Select the method appropriate for your countertop and cabinet.

2. Countertop Preparation

  • For Drop-In installation, use the provided template (if included, otherwise measure carefully) to cut the opening in your countertop. Ensure the opening is slightly smaller than the sink's rim.
  • For Undermount installation, the countertop opening should match the inner dimensions of the sink bowl. Professional installation is recommended for undermount cuts.
  • Ensure the countertop surface is clean and dry before proceeding.

3. Faucet and Accessory Installation (Customizable Faucet Deck)

The sink features a customizable faucet deck. A center hole is pre-drilled for a single-hole faucet. Additional faucet holes are pre-scored from the bottom of the sink and can be drilled as needed for accessories like soap dispensers or air gaps.

  • Identify the desired locations for additional holes.
  • Using a suitable drill bit (e.g., diamond-tipped hole saw) and following manufacturer guidelines, carefully drill through the pre-scored areas from the underside of the sink.
  • Install your faucet and other accessories according to their respective manufacturer instructions.

4. Sink Placement and Sealing

  • Apply a bead of silicone sealant around the edge of the countertop opening (for drop-in) or the top edge of the sink (for undermount).
  • Carefully lower the sink into the opening (drop-in) or lift it into place against the underside of the countertop (undermount).
  • Secure the sink using the provided mounting clips (for drop-in) or appropriate undermount clips/adhesive (for undermount). Tighten fasteners evenly until snug, but do not overtighten.
  • Wipe away any excess sealant immediately.

5. Drain Assembly

  • Install the included chrome basket strainer according to its specific instructions. Ensure a watertight seal using plumber's putty or silicone sealant as directed.
  • Connect your P-trap and drain lines to the basket strainer, ensuring all connections are tight and leak-free.
  • The sink is safe for use with high-capacity garbage disposals. If installing a disposal, follow the disposal manufacturer's instructions for attachment to the sink flange.

6. Water Supply Connection

  • Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to your faucet.
  • Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks at all connections. Tighten as necessary.

Operating Instructions

Your TERRAlife Hyperion 24 sink is designed for everyday kitchen use. Operate your faucet as per its manufacturer's instructions. The sink's durable surface is suitable for various kitchen tasks, including food preparation and dishwashing.

  • Temperature: The sink is heat safe up to 535°F, allowing for direct placement of hot pots and pans.
  • Disposal Use: If a garbage disposal is installed, operate it according to its manufacturer's guidelines. The sink's sound-absorbing properties help minimize disposal noise.
  • Drainage: The softly sloping basin ensures efficient water drainage.

Maintenance and Care

Proper care will help maintain the appearance and performance of your granite composite sink.

  • Daily Cleaning: Clean daily with a soft cloth or sponge and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry to prevent water spots.
  • Stain Removal: For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for granite composite sinks. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia, or strong acids, as these can damage the surface.
  • Preventing Water Spots: Wipe the sink dry after each use, especially in hard water areas, to prevent mineral buildup.
  • Heat: While the sink is heat resistant, avoid placing extremely hot items directly on the surface for extended periods without protection.
  • Scratches: The sink is scratch-resistant, but using cutting boards for food preparation is always recommended to protect both the sink and your knives.
