3. Setup and Assembly

The VITILAN L5 Electric Bike arrives approximately 90% pre-assembled. The remaining assembly steps are straightforward and typically involve attaching the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and front basket.

3.1 Unpacking

  • Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging.
  • Inspect for any shipping damage. Contact customer support immediately if damage is found.
  • Ensure all included components are present: Basket, Horn, Mudguard, Tool Kit.

3.2 Initial Assembly Steps

  1. Install Front Wheel: Secure the front wheel into the fork using the quick-release skewer or axle nuts. Ensure the brake rotor is correctly aligned with the caliper.
  2. Attach Handlebars: Insert the handlebar stem into the fork steerer tube and tighten the bolts. Adjust the angle for comfortable riding.
  3. Install Pedals: Identify left (L) and right (R) pedals. Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and screw them into the crank arms. The left pedal tightens counter-clockwise, and the right pedal tightens clockwise.
  4. Attach Front Basket: Secure the front basket to the designated mounting points on the frame or handlebars using the provided hardware.

3.3 Battery Installation and Charging

The 48V 15Ah battery is designed for easy installation and removal. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before the first ride.

  1. Install Battery: Slide the battery into its compartment on the frame. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  2. Lock Battery: Use the provided key to lock the battery to the frame. This prevents theft and ensures the battery remains secure during rides.
  3. Charging: Connect the charger to a standard wall outlet and then to the bike's charging port. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status. A full charge typically takes 5-6 hours.
  4. Remove Battery (Optional): Unlock the battery with the key and slide it out for off-bike charging or storage.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off and Display

  • Power On: Press and hold the power button on the LCD display.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button again.
  • LCD Display: The Bluetooth LCD display shows speed, battery level, PAS level, odometer, and other ride data. It also supports app control for iPhone users.

4.2 Riding Modes

The L5 features 5 distinct riding modes:

  • Electric Mode: Provides full motor assistance without pedaling, controlled by the throttle.

4.3 Torque Sensor Operation
