Setup
1. Power Installation (Batteries or Solar Panel)
The camera can be powered by 12 AA batteries (not included) or an external 12V solar panel (not included). To install batteries, unlatch the camera and open the casing. Insert 12 AA batteries into the designated slots, ensuring correct polarity. For solar panel use, connect the 12V solar panel to the DC port located on the bottom of the camera, covered by a rubber cap. This port is designed to keep the camera charged and running continuously.
2. SD Card Installation
A 32GB SD card is pre-installed in the camera. If you need to remove or replace it, gently push the SD card into its slot until it clicks, then release to eject. Insert the new SD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
3. SIM Card & Cellular Setup
The camera comes with a built-in SIM card that supports Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T networks in the United States. Upon first use, a trial data package of 1,000 photos/videos is provided. To manage cellular data and receive real-time notifications, download the "TrailCam Go" mobile app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to bind your camera and activate your data plan. Additional data packages (Standard, Premium, Unlimited) can be purchased through the app after the trial period.
4. Antenna Attachment
Screw the provided antenna firmly into the antenna port located on the top of the camera. Ensure it is securely attached for optimal signal reception.
5. Mounting the Camera
The camera offers two mounting options:
- Tree Mounting (using Mounting Strap): Thread the provided mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera. Wrap the strap around a tree or pole at the desired height and secure it tightly using the buckle. The camera's back features spikes to enhance grip on tree bark, preventing slippage.
- Wall Mounting (using Metal Bracket): Attach the metal bracket to a wall or flat surface using the included screws and drywall anchors. Once the bracket is secure, screw the camera onto the bracket's adjustable head. The adjustable knob on the bracket allows for precise positioning and tension adjustment of the camera.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Regularly check battery levels via the app or on the camera's screen. Replace all 12 AA batteries simultaneously to ensure consistent power.
- SD Card Management: Periodically check the remaining storage space on the 32GB SD card. Transfer important files to a computer and format the SD card to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and PIR sensors with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dirt, dust, or smudges. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Waterproofing Check: Ensure the rubber seal around the camera casing is clean and free of debris before closing the latch. This maintains the IP67 waterproof rating.
- Firmware Updates: Check the "TrailCam Go" app or the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to improve camera performance and add new features.
Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Powering On: Check battery installation and ensure they are fresh. If using a solar panel, verify the connection and sunlight exposure.
- No Photos/Videos Captured: Ensure the camera is in "ON" mode. Check PIR sensitivity settings. Verify SD card is inserted correctly and has sufficient space.
- Poor Image/Video Quality: Check selected resolution settings. Clean the camera lens. Ensure adequate lighting for night vision (within 85ft range).
- No Cellular Connection/Notifications: Verify SIM card is active and data plan is sufficient. Check cellular signal strength in the camera's location via the app. Ensure the antenna is securely attached.
- App Connectivity Issues: Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection. Restart both the camera and the app. Re-bind the camera if necessary.
- Excessive Battery Drain: This camera requires 12 AA batteries. Consider using a 12V solar panel for continuous power. Adjust settings like video length, photo burst, and PIR sensitivity to reduce power consumption.
