1. Product Overview

The Hagibis MC60H is a 3-in-1 USB Type-C Docking Station designed specifically for the Apple Mac mini M4. It functions as a hub, a stand, and an M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure, providing expanded connectivity and storage options. This device integrates seamlessly with your Mac mini M4, offering multiple ports including 4K@60Hz HDMI, 10Gbps USB3.2 Gen2, 480Mbps USB2.0, SD4.0, and TF4.0 card slots, along with a 5V/2A power supply port.

Its aluminum alloy construction ensures efficient heat dissipation, while the design includes a reserved hole for easy power-on of the Mac mini M4.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Installing an M.2 NVMe SSD (Optional)

1. Locate the M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure on the bottom of the docking station.
2. Using the provided screwdriver, remove the screw securing the enclosure cover.
3. Carefully insert your M.2 NVMe SSD (2230/2242/2260/2280 compatible) into the slot.
4. Secure the SSD with the provided screw.
5. Apply thermal grease to the SSD for optimal heat dissipation.
6. Replace the enclosure cover and secure it with the screw.

4.2 Connecting the Hub to your Mac mini M4

1. Place your Mac mini M4 securely on top of the Hagibis docking station. Ensure the reserved power-on hole on the stand aligns with the Mac mini's power button.
2. Connect the provided USB-C to USB-C cable from the 'HOST' port on the rear of the docking station to an available USB-C/Thunderbolt port on your Mac mini M4.
3. Connect the 5V/2A power supply cable to the corresponding port on the rear of the docking station and plug it into a power outlet. This provides stable power for connected devices and the SSD.
4. Connect any desired peripherals (monitor via HDMI, USB devices, SD/TF cards) to the available ports on the docking station.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Using USB Ports

Connect USB devices such as external hard drives, keyboards, mice, or other peripherals to the USB3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) or USB2.0 (480Mbps) ports. For wireless keyboards or mice, it is recommended to use the USB2.0 port to minimize potential signal interference.

5.2 Using Card Readers

Insert SD or Micro SD (TF) cards into the respective SD4.0 and TF4.0 slots for high-speed data transfer. Ensure the card is inserted correctly to avoid damage.

5.3 Using HDMI Port

Connect an external display to the HDMI port using an HDMI cable. The hub supports 4K resolution at 60Hz, allowing for high-quality video output from your Mac mini M4.

5.4 Accessing Installed SSD

Once the SSD is installed and the hub is connected to your Mac mini, the SSD will appear as an external drive. You may need to format the SSD through Disk Utility on macOS if it's a new drive.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the docking station. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols.
• Ventilation: Ensure the area around the docking station and Mac mini is clear to allow for proper airflow and heat dissipation. Do not block the ventilation openings.
• Cable Management: Keep cables organized and free from kinks or excessive bending to prevent damage.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power supply and store the device in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Recognized:
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected, especially the USB-C host cable to the Mac mini.
  • Verify the 5V/2A power supply is connected and functioning.
  • Try connecting the hub to a different USB-C/Thunderbolt port on your Mac mini.
  • Restart your Mac mini.
• SSD Not Appearing:
  • Check the SSD installation to ensure it is seated correctly and secured.
  • For new SSDs, open Disk Utility on macOS to see if the drive is detected but unformatted. Format it if necessary.
  • Ensure the hub has sufficient power from the 5V/2A adapter.
• Slow Data Transfer:
  • Ensure you are using the USB3.2 Gen2 ports for high-speed devices.
  • Check the quality of your USB-C host cable; use the provided cable or a high-quality alternative.
  • Avoid connecting too many power-hungry devices simultaneously without adequate external power.
• HDMI Display Issues:
  • Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the hub and the monitor.
  • Check monitor input settings.
  • Ensure your monitor supports the selected resolution and refresh rate.
