4. Setup & Connections

The WCKUN 4K Portable Touch Monitor offers flexible connectivity options. Ensure your device supports the necessary ports and protocols for optimal performance, especially for touch functionality.

4.1. Connecting via USB-C (Full-Featured)

For devices with a full-featured USB-C port (supporting USB-C 3.1 or higher protocol), a single USB-C to USB-C cable can transmit both video, audio, and touch signals, and power the monitor.

  1. Connect one end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to a full-featured USB-C port on your device (e.g., laptop, smartphone).
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to one of the full-featured Type-C ports on the monitor.
  3. If your device cannot provide sufficient power, connect the included power adapter to the monitor's other Type-C port for additional power.

4.2. Connecting via HDMI and USB-A (for Touch)

If your device has an HDMI port but not a full-featured USB-C port, you will need both an HDMI cable for video/audio and a USB-A to USB-C cable for touch functionality and power.

  1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your device.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the monitor.
  3. Connect the USB-A end of the USB-A to USB-C cable to a USB-A port on your device.
  4. Connect the USB-C end of the USB-A to USB-C cable to one of the full-featured Type-C ports on the monitor. This provides power and enables touch.
  5. If your device cannot provide sufficient power, connect the included power adapter to the monitor's other Type-C port.

5.4. Touch Functionality

For touch functionality to work, ensure your device is connected via a full-featured USB-C port (USB-C 3.1 or higher) or via HDMI + USB-A for touch data transmission. No additional drivers are typically required.

Note: For Windows multi-monitor setups, the touch input might default to the primary display. You may need to configure touch input settings in your operating system to correctly assign touch to the portable monitor.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in its neoprene protective case to prevent scratches and damage.
  • Handling: Handle the monitor with care. Avoid dropping it or applying excessive pressure to the screen.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the monitor to extreme temperatures or high humidity.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Black Screen:
    • Ensure the monitor is powered on and connected correctly.
    • Verify that the input source is correctly selected in the OSD menu.
    • Check if your device's display output is enabled (e.g., extend or duplicate display in OS settings).
    • If using USB-C, ensure your device's USB-C port is full-featured (supports video output).
    • Try connecting the monitor to an external power adapter if your device's power output is insufficient.
  • Touch Functionality Not Working:
    • Ensure the USB-C cable used for touch is connected to a compatible port (USB-C 3.1 or higher) on your device and the monitor.
    • If using HDMI, ensure the USB-A to USB-C cable is also connected for touch data.
    • For Windows, check display settings to ensure touch input is correctly assigned to the portable monitor.
  • Screen Flickering/Unstable Display:
    • This can be caused by insufficient power. Connect the monitor to the included power adapter.
    • Ensure cables are securely connected and not damaged.
  • Incorrect Resolution/Stretched Image:
    • Adjust the display resolution in your device's operating system settings. The native resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels.
