4. Setup and Assembly Instructions
Assembly typically requires two adults. Please follow these general steps. Refer to the included assembly diagram for detailed part identification and connection points.
Required Tools (Not Included):
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Allen Wrench (often included in hardware pack, but a personal set may be helpful)
- Rubber Mallet (optional, for gentle tapping)
Assembly Steps:
- Unpack and Organize: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Identify all parts against the parts list in your assembly diagram.
- Assemble Main Bed Frame: Connect the headboard, footboard, and side rails using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until the frame is stable.
- Install Wooden Slats (Main Bed): Place the wooden slats across the main bed frame. Secure them according to the assembly diagram. This forms the mattress support.
- Assemble Trundle Bed Frame: Construct the trundle frame, including its side panels and base. Attach the smooth rolling wheels to the bottom of the trundle frame.
- Install Wooden Slats (Trundle): Place and secure the wooden slats for the trundle bed.
- Final Tightening: Once both frames are assembled and stable, go back and fully tighten all hardware connections. Do not overtighten.
- Position Trundle: Slide the assembled trundle bed under the main bed frame.

5. Operating Instructions
Using the Trundle Bed:
The trundle bed is designed for easy access and storage. To use, gently pull the trundle frame out from under the main bed. The smooth rolling wheels facilitate this movement. To store, simply push the trundle back under the main bed until it is fully recessed.

Mattress Compatibility:
The main bed is designed for a standard twin-size mattress. For the trundle bed, a mattress with a maximum thickness of 6 inches is recommended to allow it to slide smoothly under the main bed.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and appearance of your bed.
- Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish.
- Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary to maintain structural integrity.
- Wood Care: Protect the wood from excessive moisture and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
- Trundle Wheels: Keep the trundle wheels free of debris to ensure smooth operation.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Bed feels wobbly: Check all hardware connections and tighten any loose bolts or screws. Ensure the bed is on a level surface.
- Trundle not sliding smoothly: Inspect the wheels for any obstructions (e.g., carpet fibers, dust). Ensure the trundle is aligned correctly with the main bed frame.
- Squeaking noises: This can often be resolved by tightening all hardware. If the issue persists, apply a small amount of lubricant to metal-on-metal contact points (if applicable) or check for uneven slat placement.
If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact Giantex customer support.
