Setup

1. Powering the Sensor

The eMylo Human Presence Sensor is a wired device. Connect the provided USB cable to the sensor and plug it into a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The sensor requires constant power to operate.

2. App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. The sensor only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi.
  4. Open the app and tap the "Add Device" or "+" icon.
  5. Select the sensor from the list of available devices or use the auto-scan feature.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the sensor to your WiFi network. If pairing fails, press the black button on the back of the sensor until the light blinks, then attempt to re-pair. For best results, perform pairing near your wireless router.

3. Mounting the Sensor

The sensor can be mounted on a ceiling or a side wall. The detection angle is greater than 90 degrees, and the detection distance is 0-6 meters.

  • Ceiling Mounting: Ideal for broad area coverage. Mount at a height of approximately 3 meters for optimal 6-meter sensing distance.
  • Side Wall Mounting: Can help reduce false detections from small animals. Ensure the radar module faces the desired detection area.

Operating Instructions

Once the sensor is paired and mounted, you can configure its settings and utilize its features through the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

1. Detection Settings

The app allows you to customize various detection parameters:

  • Detection Range: Set the effective detection distance from 0 to 6 meters.
  • Motion Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity for detecting general movement.
  • Micro-motion Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity for detecting subtle movements, such as breathing.
  • Illuminance Value: The sensor can report ambient light levels (0 to 3000 Lux).

2. Scene Modes

The sensor offers 5 pre-defined scene modes to optimize detection for different environments:

  • Default: General purpose detection.
  • Passageway: Optimized for corridors and entryways.
  • Living: Suitable for living rooms.
  • Bedroom: Designed for bedroom environments, potentially with higher micro-motion sensitivity.
  • Bathroom: Specific settings for bathroom use.

3. Smart Linkage

Leverage the Tuya/Smart Life app to create automation routines based on the sensor's detection. For example:

  • "If human presence is detected, then turn on smart lights."
  • "If no human presence is detected for X minutes, then turn off smart lights."
  • "If motion is detected in a specific area, send an alert to your phone."

Note: Smart lights or other linked devices are not included and must be compatible with the Tuya/Smart Life ecosystem.

Maintenance

The eMylo Human Presence Sensor requires minimal maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the sensor's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app for available firmware updates to ensure the sensor has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the sensor remains continuously powered via the USB cable.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Sensor not pairing with app
  • Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
  • Make sure the sensor is powered on and the indicator light is blinking (ready for pairing).
  • Press the black button on the back of the sensor to reset and re-enter pairing mode.
  • Move the sensor closer to your WiFi router during the pairing process.
  • Check your WiFi password for accuracy.
Inaccurate or no detection
  • Verify the sensor's detection range and sensitivity settings in the app.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor's field of view.
  • Check the mounting position; adjust if necessary (refer to "Mounting the Sensor" section).
  • Ensure the sensor is continuously powered.
False detections
  • Reduce the motion and micro-motion sensitivity settings in the app.
  • Consider side wall mounting to minimize detection of small pets.
  • Ensure the sensor is not pointing directly at moving objects like fans or curtains.
App not receiving alerts
  • Check your phone's notification settings for the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app.
  • Ensure the sensor has a stable WiFi connection.
  • Verify that alert rules are correctly configured in the app.
