6. Operating Instructions
The MAX DISPOSER A600 is designed for continuous feed operation, providing powerful and quiet food waste grinding.
6.1 General Operation
- Turn on the cold water.
- Turn on the disposer switch.
- Slowly feed food waste into the disposer opening.
- Allow the disposer to run until all waste is cleared and only the sound of water and motor is heard.
- Turn off the disposer switch, then turn off the water.
6.2 Acceptable and Unacceptable Waste

- Can Grind: Common food waste (leftovers, fruit and vegetable peelings), general hard waste (shrimp and crab shells, fish bones), hard bone waste (poultry small bones).
- Cannot Grind: Metal, plastic, paper, coarse fiber (e.g., corn husks, artichokes), animal hair, hot oil, too big food waste, other non-physical garbage.

- Disposer not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged in. Verify the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Press the red reset button on the bottom of the unit.
- Disposer humming but not grinding: This indicates an object is likely jammed in the grinding chamber. Turn off the power immediately. Use the hex wrench (included) to insert into the center hole on the bottom of the disposer and turn it back and forth to free the jam. Remove the object with tongs or pliers (never your hand). Press the reset button and try again.
- Leaking: Check all plumbing connections for tightness. Ensure the sink flange is properly sealed.
- Odors: Run cold water and grind a few lemon or orange peels to freshen the disposer.
