Setup Instructions

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Inspect the tripod and accessories for any signs of damage. If any components are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.

2. Attaching the Quick Release Plate

The quick release plate is essential for securely mounting your camera or phone holder to the tripod head. Attach the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera or phone clamp using the 1/4-inch mounting screw. Ensure it is tightened securely to prevent accidental detachment.

3. Extending Tripod Legs

To extend the tripod legs, unlock the leg sections by flipping open the quick-release levers on each leg. Extend the legs to your desired height and then firmly close the levers to lock them in place. Ensure all leg sections are fully locked before placing any equipment on the tripod.

4. Adjusting the Center Column

The center column allows for additional height adjustment. To raise or lower the center column, loosen the elevation locking knob located on the side of the tripod head. Adjust the column to the desired height and then tighten the knob firmly to secure it. For maximum stability, it is recommended to keep the center column lowered as much as possible.

Operating Instructions

1. Mounting Your Device

Once the quick release plate is attached to your camera or phone holder, align the plate with the slot on the tripod head and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the safety lock is engaged.

2. Adjusting the 3-Way Pan Head

The 3-way pan head allows for flexible positioning of your device. Loosen the handle to adjust the horizontal and vertical tilt. The head can rotate 360 degrees horizontally. Once your desired angle is achieved, tighten the handle to lock the position. The tripod also supports vertical screen mode for smartphones.

3. Using the Phone Holder

The included phone clamp can accommodate smartphones with a width range of 2.3 to 3.3 inches. Attach the phone clamp to the quick release plate, then mount it to the tripod head as described above. Gently place your smartphone into the clamp, ensuring it is held firmly.

4. Enhancing Stability with Counterweight

For increased stability, especially in windy conditions or when using heavier equipment, utilize the hook located at the bottom of the center column. You can hang a bag or other weight from this hook to lower the tripod's center of gravity and reduce vibrations.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your JOBFRI tripod, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust, dirt, or moisture. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its travel bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure all levers and knobs are in a relaxed, unlocked position to prevent stress on components.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, levers, and joints for tightness. Tighten any loose components gently. Do not overtighten.
  • Lubrication: The pan head mechanism is designed for smooth operation and generally does not require lubrication. If movement becomes stiff, contact customer support for advice. Do not apply lubricants unless specifically instructed.

Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Tripod is unstable:
    • Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and their quick-release levers are securely locked.
    • Verify that the center column elevation locking knob is tightened.
    • Use the weight hanging hook at the bottom of the center column to add a counterweight for improved stability, especially outdoors.
    • If the center column is fully extended, some slight movement may occur. For maximum stability, keep the center column as low as possible.
  • Pan head movement is stiff or jerky:
    • Ensure the pan head handle is sufficiently loosened for smooth movement.
    • Check for any debris or obstructions around the moving parts of the head.
  • Device not securely mounted:
    • Confirm that the quick release plate is firmly attached to your camera or phone clamp.
    • Ensure the quick release plate is fully inserted into the tripod head and the safety lock is engaged.
