1. Important Safety Information and Initial Setup

Before using your new Oyajia BD029A dehumidifier for the first time, it is recommended to allow it to rest upright for 4-6 hours, or sometimes longer. This allows the refrigerant in the compressor to settle correctly. During transportation, the dehumidifier may have been tilted, which can displace the refrigerant. Operating the unit immediately after transport without this resting period may result in reduced dehumidification efficiency, improper function, or increased noise levels. Ensuring the compressor functions correctly from the start contributes to the machine's performance and longevity.

Always place the dehumidifier on a stable, level surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for proper airflow.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.

3.2 Placement

Place the unit on a firm, level surface in the area where dehumidification is desired. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space around the air inlet and outlet for optimal airflow.

3.3 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet (220-240V/50Hz).

3.4 Water Tank Installation

Ensure the 4-liter water tank is correctly inserted into the unit. The unit will not operate if the tank is full or improperly seated.

3.5 Continuous Drainage (Optional)

For continuous operation without needing to empty the water tank, attach the provided drain hose to the continuous drainage outlet on the unit. Ensure the hose is directed downwards to a suitable drain, allowing gravity to facilitate water flow.

4. Operating Instructions

The dehumidifier features a touch control panel for easy operation.

4.1 Control Panel Functions

• Power Button: Touch to turn the device On/Off.
• Mode Button: Touch to cycle through operating modes: Dehumidification Mode, Continuous Dehumidification Mode, Sleep Mode.
• Fan Speed Button: Touch to select fan speed (2 speeds available).
• Up Button (+): In non-timed state, increases the dehumidification setting. In timed state, increases the timer duration.
• Down Button (-): In non-timed state, reduces the dehumidification setting. In timed state, reduces the timer duration.
• Timer Button: Activates/deactivates the timer function.
• Child Lock Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate the child lock function.
• Negative Ion Switch: Activates the negative ion function.

4.2 Operating Modes

The dehumidifier offers various modes to suit different needs:

• Dehumidification Mode: Standard operation to reduce ambient humidity to a set level.
• Continuous Dehumidification Mode: Operates continuously regardless of humidity levels, suitable for very damp environments or laundry drying.
• Sleep Mode: Reduces fan speed and dims display lights for quiet operation during sleep.
• Automatic Mode: The unit intelligently adjusts operation based on detected humidity levels.
• Laundry Drying Function: Specifically designed to assist in drying clothes by continuously removing moisture from the air.

4.3 Wi-Fi App Control

The dehumidifier can be controlled remotely using a smartphone or other device with Wi-Fi connectivity. Download the dedicated app to adjust working mode, humidity settings, fan speed, and other parameters from anywhere. The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Emptying the Water Tank

When the water tank is full, the unit will automatically stop operating and a full water reminder will activate. Carefully remove the water tank from the unit and empty the collected water. Reinsert the tank securely to resume operation.

5.2 Cleaning the Washable Filter

The dehumidifier is equipped with a washable filter. Regularly check and clean the filter to maintain optimal performance and air quality. Remove the filter, wash it with clean water, and ensure it is completely dry before reinserting.

5.3 Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean, and the filter is clean and dry. Store the unit upright in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

If the dehumidifier is not operating as expected, please check the following:

• Unit not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the water tank is full or improperly seated.
• No dehumidification: Verify that the unit has rested for 4-6 hours after transport before initial use. Ensure the air inlet and outlet are not blocked. Check the set humidity level; if it is higher than the current room humidity, the unit may not operate.
• Unusual noise: Ensure the unit is on a stable, level surface. Check for any obstructions in the fan area.
• Water tank full indicator remains on after emptying: Ensure the water tank is correctly and fully reinserted into the unit.
