Installation

For installation in vehicle engine compartments, securely attach the repellent using the provided zip ties. Position the device to maximize ultrasonic coverage and ensure it does not come into direct contact with hot engine components. For indoor use, place the device in an area where rodent activity is observed, ensuring the ultrasonic speakers are not obstructed.

Operating Instructions

Modes of Operation

The device features two primary operating modes:

  • Car Mode: When installed in a vehicle and connected to the vehicle's power, the repellent automatically activates approximately 5 minutes after the vehicle is parked. It will automatically enter standby mode when the vehicle is in motion, conserving battery power.
  • Indoor Mode: For use in indoor environments such as garages, attics, kitchens, or warehouses, you have the option to disable the LED strobe light function if desired, to suit the specific environment.

Ultrasonic and Strobe Functionality

The repellent emits variable frequency ultrasonic waves ranging from 9kHz to 65kHz, combined with bright LED strobe lights. These elements work synergistically to disorient and deter rodents. The ultrasonic frequencies are specifically chosen to be effective against pests while generally remaining imperceptible to humans.

Expected Results

Upon initial deployment, rodent activity may appear to increase as pests become agitated by the repellent. A noticeable decrease in rodent presence is typically observed within 1-2 weeks of continuous use, with significant reduction or complete disappearance expected within 3-4 weeks.

Maintenance

The JahyElec Rodent Repellent is designed for minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the device to ensure there are no obstructions blocking the ultrasonic speakers or LED lights. If using AA batteries, replace them when the indicator light signals low power or when you notice a reduction in device performance. Keep the device clean and free from accumulated dust or debris to ensure optimal operation.

Troubleshooting

Device Not Activating

  • Ensure the power source is correctly connected and functional.
  • If using AA batteries, check their charge level and confirm they are inserted with the correct polarity.
  • If connected to a vehicle battery, verify that all connections are secure and that the vehicle battery has sufficient charge.

Limited Effectiveness

  • It is important to allow 3-4 weeks of continuous operation to observe significant results, as rodents require time to be fully deterred from an area.
  • Ensure the device is placed in an optimal location, free from obstructions that could block the ultrasonic waves.
  • For larger areas or severe infestations, consider deploying multiple units to enhance coverage and effectiveness.

Indicator Lights

Refer to the device's red/green indicator light for operational status. Consult the product diagram for the exact location and meaning of the indicator lights.
