Operating Instructions

Data Access Mode (Dock/Adapter Function)

When connected to a computer, the adapter functions as a multi-bay dock, allowing you to access data on up to two inserted drives simultaneously. Each drive will appear as a separate drive letter in your operating system. This mode is suitable for data recovery, transferring files, or using drives as external storage.

Standalone Cloning (Offline Cloning)

The adapter supports standalone cloning, meaning it can clone drives without being connected to a computer. Ensure the source drive has equal or less capacity than the target drive.

  1. Insert Drives: Insert the Source drive into the 'SOURCE' slot and the Target drive into the 'TARGET' slot.
  2. Set Clone Direction: Use the 'Clone Direction Switch' to select the appropriate cloning mode:
    • SATA to NVMe: For cloning 2.5"/3.5" SATA or M.2 SATA to M.2 NVMe.
    • NVMe to NVMe: For cloning M.2 NVMe to M.2 NVMe.
  3. Power On: Ensure the adapter is powered on.
  4. Initiate Clone: Press and hold the 'CLONE' button for approximately 4 seconds until the progress indicator lights illuminate. Release the button.
  5. Confirm Clone: Press the 'CLONE' button again briefly to start the cloning process. The progress indicator lights (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) will show the cloning status.
  6. Completion: The cloning process is complete when all indicator lights are solid.

Software Cloning (Connected to System)

When connected to a computer, you can use third-party cloning software to perform cloning operations. This method offers more flexibility in cloning combinations and settings.

  • Clone M.2 NVMe to M.2 NVMe
  • Clone M.2 NVMe to M.2 SATA
  • Clone M.2 NVMe to 2.5" SATA
  • Clone M.2 NVMe to 3.5" SATA
  • Clone M.2 SATA to M.2 NVMe
  • Clone 2.5" SATA to M.2 NVMe
  • Clone 3.5" SATA to M.2 NVMe

Maintenance

  • Keep the adapter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the adapter during operation.
  • When not in use, store the adapter in a safe, dry place.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not recognized: Ensure all cables (power and USB) are securely connected. Try a different USB port on your computer. Verify the adapter is powered on.
  • Drives not appearing: Check if the drives are correctly seated in their respective slots. For new drives, they may need to be initialized and formatted in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
  • Cloning fails: Ensure the target drive's capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive's capacity. Verify the 'Clone Direction Switch' is set correctly for your cloning scenario. Ensure both drives are properly inserted and detected.
  • Slow transfer speeds: Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.2 Gen2x1 (10Gbps) compatible port on your computer. Older USB ports will result in slower speeds.
