3. Device Overview

Familiarize yourself with the main parts of your rangefinder:

  • Objective Lens: Front lens for viewing targets.
  • Eyepiece/Diopter Adjustment: For focusing the display.
  • Power/Measurement Button: Activates the device and initiates measurements.
  • Mode Button: Cycles through measurement modes.
  • USB Charging Port: For recharging the internal battery.
  • Lanyard Attachment Point: For securing the lanyard.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The rangefinder is equipped with a rechargeable battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.

  1. Locate the USB charging port on the device.
  2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the rangefinder and a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator will illuminate. Once fully charged, the indicator may change color or turn off.
  4. A full charge supports up to 20,000 measurements.

Note: It is recommended to fully charge the device before each extended outing to ensure continuous operation.

4.2. Attaching the Lanyard

Attach the lanyard to the designated attachment point on the rangefinder to prevent accidental drops.

4.3. Adjusting the Eyepiece

Rotate the diopter adjustment ring on the eyepiece until the display and target appear clear and sharp to your eye.

5. Operation

5.1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press the Power/Measurement button briefly.
  • To power off: The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

5.2. Switching Measurement Units (Meters/Yards)

While the device is powered on, press and hold the Mode button to switch between meters (M) and yards (Y).

5.3. Basic Measurement

  1. Look through the eyepiece and aim the reticle at your desired target.
  2. Press the Power/Measurement button briefly. The distance will be displayed in the viewfinder.

6. Measurement Modes

The HUNTSEN Rangefinder offers 7 distinct modes. Press the Mode button briefly to cycle through them.

6.1. Distance Mode (Single Ranging)

Measures the straight-line distance to a stationary target. Aim at the target and press the Power/Measurement button once.

6.2. Integrated Mode (All-in-one Mode)

Displays angle, height, horizontal distance, and straight-line distance simultaneously. Ideal for complex terrain where elevation changes are significant.

6.3. Scan Mode

Allows for continuous measurement of multiple targets or a moving target. Press and hold the Power/Measurement button while scanning across an area. The display will update distances in real-time.

6.4. Speed Measurement Mode

Measures the speed of a moving object. Aim at the moving target and follow the on-screen instructions.

6.5. 2-Point Height Measurement Mode

Calculates the height of an object by measuring the distance to its base and its top. Follow the prompts in the display.

6.6. Golf Distance Compensation Mode

Provides slope-adjusted distance for golf, taking into account uphill or downhill shots to give an "effective play" distance.

6.7. Storage Mode

Allows for saving and recalling previous measurements. Refer to the on-screen prompts for saving and viewing stored data.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

  • Use the provided lens cleaning cloth to gently wipe the objective and eyepiece lenses.
  • For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid on the cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Clean the body of the rangefinder with a soft, damp cloth.

7.2. Storage

  • Store the rangefinder in its magnetic camo carrying case when not in use.
  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the battery is partially charged (not fully depleted or fully charged for long-term storage) if storing for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting
