1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your BufferABC Original Remote Control RC-200. This remote is designed to provide seamless control for various smart box models.

Compatibility: The RC-200 remote control is compatible with BufferABC smart box models including S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 Max, S5 Pro, S6 Max, S6 Ultra, Elite Ultra, and Elite Pro+. Please note that while all other functionalities are operational, the voice function is not supported for S1, S2, S3, and S4PRO models.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The RC-200 remote control requires two (2) AAA 1.5V batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

2.2 Initial Connection

The BufferABC RC-200 remote control is designed for immediate use with compatible smart box models. No programming or pairing is typically required for its primary functions. For TV control functions (Input, Volume Up/Down), some models may require a simple learning process. Refer to your smart box's manual for specific instructions on pairing or learning TV control functions if needed.

3. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the buttons and their functions for optimal use of your remote control.

3.1 Key Functions Overview

  • Power On/Off: Turns the device on or off.
  • APPS: Accesses application menu.
  • MEDIA: Opens media player.
  • Stop/Play/Pause: Controls media playback.
  • HOME: Returns to the main home screen.
  • Navigation (Up/Down/Left/Right/OK): Navigates menus and confirms selections.
  • Cursor/IR: Toggles cursor mode or IR function.
  • Voice Search: Activates voice command feature (not supported on S1, S2, S3, S4PRO).
  • Volume Up/Down: Adjusts audio volume.
  • Mute: Mutes or unmutes audio.
  • Learning Key: Used for programming TV control functions.
  • FILE: Accesses file browser.
  • WEB: Opens web browser.
  • Rewind/Forward: Controls media playback speed.
  • Return: Goes back to the previous screen.
  • Information: Displays information about current content.
  • Next One/Last One: Navigates between items.
  • Settings: Opens device settings.
  • Menu: Accesses context-sensitive menus.
  • Figure Button (Number Pad): Enters numerical input.
  • Delete: Deletes characters or items.

3.2 Voice Control Function

For compatible models (S5 Max, S5 Pro, S6 Max, S6 Ultra, Elite Ultra, Elite Pro+), press the Voice Search button (microphone icon) and speak your command clearly into the remote. The remote utilizes Bluetooth for this advanced functionality. Remember, voice control is not available for S1, S2, S3, and S4PRO models.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always use new AAA 1.5V batteries and ensure correct polarity. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

4.2 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive pads, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the smart box.
    • For TV control functions, ensure the remote is pointed directly at the TV's IR receiver.
  • Voice function not working:
    • Verify that your smart box model supports the voice function (S1, S2, S3, S4PRO models do not support voice control).
    • Ensure the remote is within range and connected via Bluetooth to your smart box.
    • Speak clearly and directly into the microphone on the remote.
  • Buttons are sticky or unresponsive:
    • Clean the remote control as described in the Maintenance section.
    • If the issue persists after cleaning and battery replacement, the remote may require replacement.
