Download the free app "Honestview" from your smartphone's app store. With an internet connection, you can watch videos remotely from anywhere on your phone (iOS & Android), PCs, or tablet as the cameras detect moving objects. You can also playback recorded videos by searching.
3.3 Privacy Masking Protection
Ensure privacy by masking specific areas within the camera's view.

Figure 6: Illustration of privacy masking, where selected parts of the image from the live view are concealed with black blocks to protect privacy.
The privacy masking feature allows you to conceal parts of the image from the live view for privacy protection. The parts you select will be marked as a black block, regardless of the channel status.
3.4 H.265+ Video Compression
Benefit from advanced video compression technology for efficient data management.

Figure 7: Comparison of H.265+ and H.264 video compression, demonstrating significantly longer recording time with H.265+ (e.g., 98 days vs. 12 days with 4 pcs 1080p cameras and 1TB HDD).
OOSSXX's self-developed H.265+ video coding technology extracts features that focus on characteristics of surveillance scenes for larger storage space and better image quality. H.265+ can further improve the compression ratio on the basis of the H.265 standard and save much more storage compared with H.264, effectively saving storage resources and providing an excellent and smooth viewing experience.
4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your OOSSXX DVR, follow these maintenance guidelines:

5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your OOSSXX DVR.
Common Compatibility Issue Solution: Camera Cannot Recognize
If your camera is not recognized by the DVR, consider the following steps:
- Protocol Consistency: Check if the protocol is consistent (such as ONVIF Profile S). The DVR supports ONVIF protocol to enhance cross-brand compatibility, meaning it is suitable for OOSSXX's Analog, HD-TVI, CVI, AHD, IP cameras, as well as other brands' Analog, HD-TVI, CVI, AHD, and IP cameras.
- Firmware Update: Update the DVR/camera firmware to the latest version.
- Analog Camera Signal Format: For analog cameras, confirm the signal format (e.g., AHD 3.0 vs. AHD 5.0).
