1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your AOOCOO USB C KVM Switch 4K@60Hz Dual Monitor Docking Station. This device allows two laptops to share two monitors and multiple USB peripherals, enhancing productivity in various work environments.

2. Product Overview

The AOOCOO USB C KVM Switch is a versatile 15-in-1 docking station designed to streamline your workspace. It features:

• Dual USB-C (MST) inputs for connecting two laptops.
• Two HDMI outputs for dual monitor support up to 4K@60Hz.
• Multiple USB ports: 2 USB C, 3 USB 3.0 (Type-A), 2 USB 2.0.
• 1 Gigabit Ethernet port for stable network connectivity.
• SD and TF card slots for convenient data transfer.
• 100W Power Delivery (PD) charging port, providing up to 40W to each connected laptop.
• Two switching methods: machine button and wired remote control.

3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your KVM switch:

1. Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC/12V port on the KVM switch and plug it into a power outlet.
2. Monitor Connection: Connect your two monitors to the two HDMI output ports on the KVM switch using HDMI cables.
3. Laptop Connection:
   • Connect Laptop 1 to the "LAPTOP 1" USB-C port on the KVM switch using a full-featured USB-C cable.
   • Connect Laptop 2 to the "LAPTOP 2" USB-C port on the KVM switch using a full-featured USB-C cable.
   • Important: Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports video transmission and USB control protocols (DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Power Delivery). Refer to Figure 3 for compatible USB-C port types.
4. Peripheral Connection: Connect your USB keyboard, mouse, USB drives, printer, or other peripherals to the available USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports on the KVM switch.
5. Ethernet Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router/modem to the Gigabit Ethernet port on the KVM switch.
6. Wired Remote Control (Optional): Plug the wired remote control into its dedicated port on the KVM switch for convenient switching.

4. Operating Instructions

Once all connections are made, power on the KVM switch using the ON/OFF button. The indicator lights (PC1, PC2) will show which laptop is currently active.

Switching Between Laptops:

You can switch between Laptop 1 and Laptop 2 using one of two methods:

• Machine Button: Press the "SELECT" button on the front panel of the KVM switch.
• Wired Remote Control: Press the button on the wired remote control. The remote typically has an indicator light to show the active PC.

Switching typically takes 3-5 seconds for the display and peripherals to transfer to the selected laptop.

Display Modes:

• Windows Laptops: Supports both extended display mode and duplicate display mode across the two connected monitors.
• Mac OS Laptops: Due to limitations with Multi-Stream Transport (MST) support in Mac OS, two duplicate contents will be displayed. Extended display mode is not supported for Mac OS.

Charging and Network:

• PD Charging: The KVM switch's PD port can charge both connected laptops simultaneously, with each receiving up to 40W of power.
• Gigabit Ethernet: The integrated Gigabit Ethernet port provides a stable network connection for both laptops, sharing a total network speed of one gigabit.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your KVM switch:

• Keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
• Ensure cables are securely connected and not under strain.
• Avoid blocking ventilation openings on the device.

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• No Display on Monitors:
  • Ensure the KVM switch is powered on.
  • Verify that the HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and the monitors.
  • Confirm that the USB-C cables connecting the laptops to the KVM switch are full-featured and support video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode). Refer to Figure 3.
  • Try restarting the laptops and the KVM switch.
  • If only one display works at 4K@60Hz, your laptop's bandwidth might be insufficient for dual 4K@60Hz output.
• Peripherals (Keyboard/Mouse) Not Responding:
  • Check USB cable connections to the KVM switch and peripherals.
  • Ensure the active PC indicator light corresponds to the laptop you intend to control.
  • Try connecting peripherals directly to the laptop to confirm they are functional.
• Laptops Not Charging:
  • Verify the power adapter is correctly connected to the KVM switch and a power outlet.
  • Ensure the USB-C cables connecting the laptops support Power Delivery.
  • Confirm that the laptop's USB-C port supports PD charging.
• Network Connectivity Issues:
  • Check the Ethernet cable connection to the KVM switch and your router/modem.
  • Ensure the KVM switch is powered on.
  • Some laptops may experience WiFi interference or disconnection when connected to certain KVM switches. If this occurs, try updating your laptop's network drivers or using a different USB-C port if available.
• Mac OS Display Limitations:
  • As noted in the "Display Modes" section, Mac OS does not support MST (Multi-Stream Transport), resulting in duplicate content on both monitors rather than extended display. This is a system limitation, not a device malfunction.
