Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions before operating the coffee maker.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
• The carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on a range top.
• Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
• Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
• Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.

Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if needed. Ensure all components listed in the Product Overview section are present and undamaged.

2. Initial Cleaning

Before first use, clean all removable parts. Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.

For the first cycle, it is recommended to run a full brew cycle with only water to clean the internal components. Fill the water reservoir to the MAX level, place the empty filter basket with the permanent filter inside, and run a cycle without coffee grounds. Discard the water.

3. Placement

Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

Operating Instructions

1. Filling the Water Reservoir

1. Open the water reservoir lid.
2. Fill the glass carafe with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. Refer to the water level markings on the side of the coffee maker for guidance. The maximum capacity is 8 cups (1.25 L).
3. Pour the water from the carafe into the water reservoir. Do not overfill past the "MAX" line.
4. Close the water reservoir lid securely.

2. Adding Coffee Grounds

1. Ensure the permanent filter is properly seated in the filter basket.
2. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the permanent filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup, but adjust to your personal preference.
3. Close the filter basket cover and ensure the glass carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate.

3. Brewing Coffee

1. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Press the On/Off switch to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
3. The brewing process display gauge will show the progress of the brewing cycle.
4. The coffee maker will automatically stop brewing once the water reservoir is empty.
5. The warming plate will keep the coffee warm after brewing. The automatic warm function maintains coffee temperature.

4. Pause-and-Pour Function

This coffee maker is equipped with a pause-and-pour function, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will stop automatically. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker.

1. Daily Cleaning

• Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Remove the permanent filter and filter basket. Discard used coffee grounds.
• Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
• Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker, warming plate, and water reservoir lid with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

2. Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, or more frequently if you have hard water.

1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and cold water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). For an 8-cup capacity, this would be approximately 1.25 cups of vinegar and 2.5 cups of water.
2. Place the empty permanent filter and filter basket into position, and ensure the empty carafe is on the warming plate.
3. Turn on the coffee maker and allow half of the vinegar solution to brew through.
4. Turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for at least 15 minutes to allow the solution to work.
5. Turn the coffee maker back on and brew the remaining solution.
6. Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe.
7. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
