4. Operating

Once all connections are securely made, you can power on your system. The Lian Li EDGE1000W PSU is designed for low-noise operation.

  • Ensure the power switch on the back of the PSU is in the 'ON' position.
  • Press the power button on your computer case to start the system.
  • The PSU features a fanless mode, meaning the fan will remain at zero RPM during low loads for quiet operation. The fan will automatically activate as the system load increases to maintain optimal cooling.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply.

5.1. Cleaning the Magnetic Dust Filter

The magnetic dust filter on top of the fan can be easily removed for cleaning.

  1. Ensure the PSU is powered off and disconnected from the wall outlet.
  2. Gently lift the magnetic dust filter from the top of the PSU.
  3. Clean the filter using compressed air or a soft brush to remove accumulated dust.
  4. Place the clean filter back onto the PSU, ensuring it aligns correctly and adheres magnetically.

5.2. General Care

  • Keep the area around the PSU clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
  • Periodically check all cable connections to ensure they are secure.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Lian Li EDGE1000W Power Supply, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power:
    • Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the PSU and the wall outlet.
    • Ensure the power switch on the PSU is in the 'ON' position.
    • Verify that the 24-pin motherboard cable and 8-pin CPU power cables are correctly seated.
  • System Instability/Crashes:
    • Ensure all modular cables are fully inserted into the PSU and connected components.
    • Check that your system's power requirements do not exceed the PSU's capacity.
    • Verify that the 12V-2x6 cable is properly connected to your graphics card.
  • Fan Not Spinning:
    • The PSU fan operates in a fanless mode at low loads. It will only spin when the system load increases. This is normal operation.
    • If the fan does not spin under high load, ensure the magnetic dust filter is clean and not obstructing the fan.
  • USB/Fan Hub Not Functioning:
    • Ensure the hub is properly connected to the PSU or receiving power via a PCIe 8-pin cable.
    • Verify the motherboard signal connection (USB Type-A or USB-USB) is secure.

If issues persist after following these steps, please contact Lian Li customer support.
