2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating the battery. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or death.

  • Waterproof Box: If used on a boat or in a wet environment, always use a Group 31 waterproof battery box.
  • Charging Discharged Batteries: If the battery is totally discharged, charge it within 24 hours to prevent potential damage.
  • Bluetooth Settings: Do not change the default Bluetooth settings unless specifically instructed by TCBWORTH support.
  • BMS Protection: The integrated 100A Smart BMS provides protection against overcharging, over-discharging, over-current, overheating, and short circuits. It also includes a low-temperature cut-off function.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery during operation and charging.
  • Terminal Connections: Ensure all terminal connections are secure and properly tightened to prevent arcing and overheating.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Initial Power-On

Smart batteries are shipped in a powered-off state. To activate the battery, please charge it with a LiFePO4 charger or solar panel for 3-10 seconds.

3.2 Physical Installation

The TCBWORTH 12.8V 135Ah battery is built to the BCI Group 31 size standard, making it universally compatible with Group 31 battery boxes and suitable for various vehicles and applications. It serves as a direct replacement for Group 31 lead-acid and AGM/SLA batteries without requiring complex modifications.

4.3 Discharge Features

The maximum continuous discharging current is 100A. The inrush current is 200A within 3-5 seconds. The Smart BMS provides auto overload protection and recovery, eliminating the need for manual intervention due to battery shutdown or protection mode.

5. Maintenance

  • Regular Charging: If the battery is fully discharged, recharge it within 24 hours to maintain battery health.
  • Bluetooth Settings: Avoid altering the default Bluetooth settings to ensure proper BMS functionality.
  • Terminal Inspection: Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion and ensure connections remain tight.
  • Storage: Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50% State of Charge (SOC).

6. Troubleshooting

The Smart BMS is designed to prevent most common issues. However, if you encounter problems, refer to the following:

  • Battery Not Powering On: If the battery is in a powered-off state (e.g., due to under-voltage protection), connect it to a compatible LiFePO4 charger for 3-10 seconds to reactivate the BMS.
  • Bluetooth Disconnection: If the Bluetooth connection drops, ensure your device is within 10 meters (unobstructed) of the battery. If the battery was powered off, recharge it to reactivate Bluetooth. If issues persist, try restarting the app or your phone.
  • Overload Protection: The BMS will automatically cut off power if an overload occurs. It will typically recover automatically once the load is reduced.
  • Low-Temperature Charging/Discharging Cut-off: If the ambient temperature is too low, the BMS will prevent charging or discharging to protect the cells. Move the battery to a warmer environment for normal operation.
