This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Zomagas 36-inch Under Cabinet Range Hood. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety. Keep this manual for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following:
- Install this range hood in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
- Ensure the electrical supply matches the rating on the appliance label.
- Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before servicing.
- Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard fan or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
- Do not use this unit with any solid-state speed control device.
- This unit must be grounded.
- For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.
- Clean grease filters frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
- Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or when flaming food.
- Use appropriate pan size for each surface element.
- Important Note: This package does not come with a junction box. For safe and reliable operation, we highly recommend purchasing one separately to enclose the wire connections and prevent damage or unintended contact.

3.2 Key Features

4. Installation (Setup)
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your range hood. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified technician.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Verify all components listed in Section 3.1 are present.
- Ensure the installation area meets the product dimensions (refer to Figure 4.1.1).
- Confirm electrical wiring is compatible with hardwire installation. A plug is sold separately (Part# ZMS-3976-PC) if needed.
- Acquire a junction box separately to safely enclose wire connections.

4.2 Mounting Options: Ducted vs. Ductless
This range hood is convertible and can be installed in either ducted or ductless mode.
- Ducted Mode: Exhausts air directly outside through a top 7-inch round vent or a rectangular rear vent. This requires existing ductwork or installation of new ductwork.
- Ductless Mode: Recirculates filtered air back into the kitchen. This mode uses the aluminum mesh and activated carbon cotton composite filter (Part# ZMS-3976-F) to purify the air.

Follow the specific instructions provided with the mounting accessories for your chosen ventilation method.
5. Operation
The Zomagas Range Hood features simple rocker button controls for fan speed and lighting.
5.1 Control Panel

5.2 Fan Operation
- Locate the fan speed rocker button on the control panel.
- Toggle the button to select between two fan speeds: Low and High.
- Toggle to the OFF position to turn off the fan.
- Use the Low speed for light cooking and the High speed for heavy cooking to efficiently remove smoke and odors.

5.3 Light Operation
- Locate the light control rocker button on the control panel.
- Toggle the button to turn the LED light ON or OFF.
- The 2W LED light provides bright illumination for your cooking surface.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your range hood.
6.1 Cleaning the Grease Filter
- The range hood is equipped with a 3-layer aluminum mesh and activated carbon cotton composite filter.
- Clean the filter regularly to prevent grease buildup, which can reduce efficiency and pose a fire hazard.
- To clean, remove the filter by gently pushing the latch and pulling down.
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water or place it in a dishwasher. Allow it to dry completely before re-installing.
- Recommendation: Replace the filter every 3 to 4 months (Part# ZMS-3976-F) for optimal air purification, especially in ductless mode.

6.2 Exterior Cleaning
- Clean the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, which can scratch the surface.
- Always wipe in the direction of the grain for stainless steel.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Zomagas Range Hood, refer to the following common problems and solutions. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
